Most searched Google query of junior product designers: what should I put in my design portfolio? 🤔 Ok, we didn't fact-check that, but it's probably pretty high on the list. To help answer the question, Sophie Rahier sat down with senior designers and hiring managers to hear their top tips for creating a portfolio. Find out what Liz Hamburger 🍔, Venessa Bennett and Marisa Jensen had to say ⤵️ https://lnkd.in/e-qzJctS #DesignPortfolio #ProductDesign #UXDesign

A game of The Traitors, a full moon, the summer solstice, and 22 colleagues camping on a nature reserve… 🌚 It can only be the Planes summer retreat 🌞 The aim was to spark meaningful connections between the team, away from our desks and hectic city life. Memorable moments include: 🐓 Holding George the friendly hen 🖤 Sophie and Ryan dressed as Claudia Winkleman - no more words needed 🗡️ Henry getting voted off as a Traitor in the first round because ‘when was the last time you heard Henry say this much’ 🧘🏼♀️ Sunrise(ish) yoga in the garden for sore heads 🃏 The lethal cereal box game RIP my hamstring Thanks to everyone involved in organising this very special event and the beautiful Elmley Nature Reserve for hosting us. If you’re thinking about playing The Traitors at your next company away day… speak to Sophie Aspden and Ryan Lock. At your own risk!!! ☠️

“Think of your design portfolio like a digital product and get your MVP out there” 🚀 On Wednesday, Sophie Rahier sat down with Venessa Bennett, Marisa Jensen, Liz Hamburger 🍔 and Ben Elliott to talk all things landing a job in Product Design. They covered everything from portfolios to interviews, and, of course, what to do about design tasks 👀 The top takeaways: ⭐️ As a junior, soft skills, presenting skills, and attention to detail are more important than your technical skills: you can pick the tools up on the job. ⭐️ Use your portfolio to showcase a bit of your personality, don’t just follow templates and jam it with lots of case study information. ⭐️ Design tasks are there for you to showcase how you think: execute them well and think about your process rather than finding the “right” answer (there often isn’t one). Huge shout out to our speakers, Found By Few, and everyone who came along! We can’t wait for the next one 💥

“When we put our brand into an app, we saw how creative we could get with it.” Bringing brand and product together can make the difference between a good digital product and a bad one 👀 It's the difference between an app which feels like an afterthought and an end-to-end digital experience which is 100% true to a brand’s values... So what does it look like when you successfully bring the two together? We sat down with brand and product experts from Ennismore, Financial Times and Skin Rocks™ to hear how they built brand-led digital products 👏 Find out what Andrew Antoniades, Holly Victoria Brooke and Debbie McMahon said in our latest blog ⤵️ https://lnkd.in/enfd3vjk
