Our story began in 2000 when we opened our first restaurant in New Oxford Street, London. Back then we were called Jonathan’s. Since then, we’ve become one of the most well-known and most loved Italian dining restaurants on the high street. Today we have 96 restaurants with a team of over 2,000 people – creating memorable moments for our guests, right across the UK. We’re all about Sharing the Joy of Italian Dining; bringing people together to enjoy delicious Italian classics, in beautiful settings – whatever the occasion. Prezzo’s success is founded on the passion of its local operators, and a firm belief in developing strong and engaged leaders within and across its expansive portfolio. Our strong knowledge and understanding of our guests, combined with our focus on menu innovation, are key in cementing our position as the leading casual dining operator in the UK.     We recently caught up with Eglė from our Hinckley restaurant, who’s been part of the Prezzo family for nearly 13 years!     It’s always great to be able to share some positive news, so to feature in The Caterer with a summary of how the outlook for Prezzo is bright was a brilliant start to the week after a busy bank holiday weekend. Over the next few years we’ll be investing in refurbishing and refreshing our restaurants- exciting news for both our guests and our teams and something we can’t wait to get going on! But for us, investing in our people as well as our properties is every bit as valuable and exciting. New apprenticeship schemes and the formation of our Employee-led inclusion groups has contributed to a significant increase in restaurant staff retention rates, which are up 17% year on year. We’re really proud to be building a strong foundation for growth, and for the work we’re continuing to do to create a culture of attracting and retaining the best talent. #ProudToBePrezzo #InvestingInPeople

    Last week we worked with the training and communications teams at Prezzo to create some training videos to support their upcoming menu changes. Prezzo create a range of training videos for their restaurant teams throughout the year to make sure everyone always has access to training and support when they need it. An essential part of this project was understanding the importance of their Head of Food communicating the reasons behind these changes. This approach ensures that every new menu video begins with a conversational piece explaining the "why" behind the menu updates and giving the Food and Drink teams a chance to engage the wider company in their vision for each of the seasonal menus. At Prezzo they believe that for a new menu launch to be truly successful, comprehensive training for the kitchen teams needs to accompany it. While menu training might seem like a “behind the scenes task”, it is vital to the introduction of new dishes. Details matter, and for the kitchen teams bringing these menus to life, learning and understanding the details of ingredients, recipes, and technical skills is crucial. For each menu launch, Prezzo creates a set of training materials, including detailed specifications and easy-to-follow videos. These resources cater to different learning styles, ensuring that whether team members prefer reading or visual learning, they have the tools they need to succeed. This commitment to continuous learning is a cornerstone of life at Prezzo, and menu training is just one of the many ways they support their team's growth and skill development.
