About us

The Pride in London 2024 Parade Day will take place on Saturday 29th June and celebrates all aspects of the LGBTQ+ community. We are incredibly proud and inspired by a young group of trans activists, by the name of Trans Kids Deserve Better, who have been protesting outside the Department for Education in Westminster since Friday. The protest follows Health Secretary Wes Streeting’s decision on 22 August to extend the ban on access to puberty blockers, as well as the draft guidance from the DfE that seeks to control and regulate the identities and experiences of trans youth, potentially violating the Equality Act and harming an entire generation of trans and non-binary children. These activists ask to embrace their identity on their own terms and to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and inclusive environment. Their demands are not only just but urgently needed! We must do whatever is within our power to protect trans youth - please support however you can. 🩵 Share their story and learn more about the challenges faced by trans youth to amplify their voices and create inclusive spaces. 🩷 Donate to or volunteer with trans organisations that provide resources and support for trans youth. 🤍 Head over to Westminster to share good vibes and show trans love! 🖋️ Contact your local MP to oppose policies harming trans youth. Let’s stand together in solidarity and show the world that trans youth are celebrated, supported, and loved! ❤️🏳️⚧️✨ #PrideInLondon #LGBwiththeT #TransRightsAreHumanRights #TransYouthAreLoved

Today we celebrate UK Black Pride, standing together in unity with our LGBTQIA+ Black and POC siblings. ✊🏿🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✨ UK Black Pride is the world’s largest celebration for LGBTQIA+ people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American, and Middle Eastern descent. It’s a safe space where diverse sexualities, gender identities, cultures, gender expressions, and backgrounds are empowered and celebrated. Importantly, UK Black Pride promotes unity and cooperation among LGBTQIA+ people of diasporic communities in the UK, as well as their friends and families. In a world where the intersectionality of race and queerness often goes unrecognised, UK Black Pride plays a crucial role in reminding us that our communities are vibrant, resilient, and deserving of love, respect, visibility, equality, and safety. Here’s to a future where everyone can live their truth with Pride. 🌈🌍💕 #UKBlackPride #LGBTQIA+ #prideinlondon #BlackQueerJoy

The racist eruptions and far-right violence of the past few days in the UK are a stark reminder of the importance of our daily fight for human rights. Amidst the darkness, hope and the love of humanity shine through, with thousands of people in London and across the UK taking to the streets to oppose hate and violence, and to protect their neighbours. This is the power of solidarity and why it’s so important to stand united against hatred. We will not be controlled by fear. At Pride in London, we continue our work for a just and inclusive society: to make our voices - your voices - heard. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✨ To protect those affected by hate and bigotry. To demand that the government guarantees equal rights for communities and minorities under constant attack. Let’s stand for unity, inclusivity, and diversity. 🌈❤️ #PrideInLondon #RefugeesWelcome #BlackLivesMatter #LGBTQIA+ #Humanrights

I'm excited to share that I have been elected to the role of Vice-President, Diversity & Inclusion with InterPride. InterPride is a global organisation that works to promote LGBTQIA+ Pride events and support Pride organisers worldwide. As the Vice-President of Diversity & Inclusion, I'll be focusing on ensuring that our organisation and the Pride events we support are truly inclusive and representative of the diverse LGBTQIA+ community. There is much work to be done in this space, requiring input and understanding from all members of InterPride and the broader LGBTQIA+ community. I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues at InterPride, Pride organisers around the world, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to make our Pride celebrations and advocacy work more inclusive and representative. This Disability Pride Month, we’ve reflected on the intersectionality of queerness and disability, and how this may shape an individual’s reality. Looking at the different types of disability – physical, behavioural, developmental, and sensory – and reflecting on the often multilayered reality of queerness, it becomes almost impossible to embrace all scenarios, as each comes with a specific set of characteristics. At Pride in London, we are committed to supporting our LGBTQIA+ community, every single one of you. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✨ Here some inspiring words from our well-being co-ordinator, Matthew Hassan.🌈❤️ #PrideinLondon #PrideDisabilityMonth #Intersectionality #Queerness #Disability

On this Trans+ Pride Day, let’s stand together in solidarity with our trans siblings. 🏳️⚧️✨ Today is about celebrating trans joy while demanding justice at a time when UK government policies not only affect but directly attack trans people. We will continue to make our voices heard and march until the day trans people have the same legal rights, protection, and societal acceptance that cis people are granted at birth. Whether you’re part of the trans movement, the LGB community, or an ally, let’s continue to fight for equality, visibility, and a reality where everyone can live an authentic life. 🌈❤️ #LGBwiththeT❤️ #translivesmatter #transyouthareloved #blacktranslivesmatter #transpride #weareeverywhere

Recent findings from myGwork - LGBTQ+ Business Community - Mental Health Survey: ➡ Nearly half (44.6%) of LGBTQ+ professionals have experienced depression, with the rate soaring to 53.3% among trans and non-binary individuals, and an alarming 59% for bi+/plurisexual individuals. ➡ About a third (31%) of #LGBTQ+ professionals report having experienced generalised anxiety disorder, with even higher rates among trans, non-binary, and bi+/plurisexual individuals. This week, we're celebrating Nonbinary Awareness Week, a time to recognise, honour, and uplift nonbinary individuals in our communities. Nonbinary people have existed throughout history and across cultures, yet often face invisibility and misunderstanding in a world that frequently assumes a gender binary. Nonbinary is an umbrella term for those whose gender identity falls outside the traditional categories of exclusively man or woman. This can include identities such as genderfluid, agender, bigender, and many others. Each nonbinary person's experience is unique and valid. We invite everyone to learn more about nonbinary identities, reflect on assumptions about gender, and consider ways to make our spaces more inclusive. Remember: Respect people's pronouns, avoid gendered language when unnecessary, and listen to nonbinary voices. Let's continue building a world that celebrates the full spectrum of gender identities. 💛🤍💜🖤 #NonBinary #GenderIdentites #LGBTQIA
