About us
ProVeg is an international food awareness organisation with offices and representations in the UK, China, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Poland, South Africa and the US School Plates is ProVeg UK’s flagship programme to help school meals to become healthier and more sustainable. We work with local authorities, multi-academy trusts, catering companies and individual schools offering a range of different services to increase the uptake of existing vegetarian meals and to increase the quantity of plant-based food available in schools. We focus on small, easy-to-implement changes, and, as a non-profit organisation, all our services are completely free of charge. We offer: -Menu review and advice to increase the uptake of existing vegetarian options. -New meal suggestions & new recipes (all nutritionally balanced & delicious). -Help to introduce meat-free days, as well as educational planet-themed days. Bespoke webinars to explain the principles of School Plates and how to apply them. -In-person plant-based cooking training for groups of caterers & development chefs. -Help to analyse the environmental impact of your menu changes, including climate emissions savings.
