🌍📢 Leading industry giants like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Digital Realty, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Schneider Electric have endorsed an open letter addressing a significant challenge: the scarcity of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for data centre owners and operators. The iMasons Climate Accord, a coalition dedicated to carbon reduction in digital infrastructure, has issued this open letter, highlighting the imperative of EPDs to mitigate climate change by lowering the GHG footprint of data centres globally. 🌱 To address this, supply chain vendors must enhance transparency regarding the embodied emissions of digital infrastructure, support GHG estimation and reporting, and facilitate the industry's progress towards its ambitious climate objectives through informed green procurement practices.
