Salute to all the working parents out there. My algorithm is showing me lots of posts from new parents about the joys and struggles of juggling being a new parent with building up your business from scratch. Both roles are all-consuming, so how do you manage it? I've picked up a few things which help my family and I get through and thrive. 1️⃣ Family time is family time. Even if it's only a couple of hours at the end of the day, when my daughter is having a breakdown, it's still treasured time that we won't get back. So take it all in. 2️⃣ Get used to less sleep. It's just not practical (in my experience, at least), to get 8 hours a night, whilst building up a business & raising a child & trying to stay fit and everything in the middle. I know what they say, but just get used to it. It ain't happening! 3️⃣ Make the most of the morning time. I take the 5am feed every day. At the start it was hard, but now I use the time between putting my daughter back to bed at about 5.45 and starting work at about 8am to do some self care. Depending on the day, that means either a workout, meditation, or journaling. At the weekend, I always try to learn something in that time about how I can get better the following week. 4️⃣ Plan your working day meticulously, and consistently stick to it. I have blocks scheduled in my calendar so that I commit to getting a certain task done, and complete it. Sprints for client & candidate time, and blocks for other tasks. 5️⃣ Embrace it. Your old life isn't ever coming back, but the new one is amazing. So savour every moment. My daughter is nearly 6 months old. And it's honestly flown by. Here's my new favourite pic of the 2 of us from last week when we went out for lunch for my wife's birthday. Let me know how you manage to juggle everyday life in the comments below! I'd love to pick up some new tips ☺️☺️☺️

Busy week at Reilcom Technology Staffing this week! As with any busy week, there's always lots of learns to keep in mind for next time: 1️⃣ Having your day booked out into "blocks" really helps. Short sprints on tasks = get more done. 2️⃣ Embrace technology, but test it first. See what works, and what doesn't before spending on it. I'm happy with our tech stack now! 3️⃣ Keep an eye on the finances. Daily/twice weekly monitoring of the accounts is useful and provides the chance to learn. 4️⃣ "Don't bite off more than you can chew", as we Brits say... I've recently appreciated this saying more and more. E.g. Cut up your food into bite-size chunks, you greedy🚨(This is a metaphor, obviously). 5️⃣ Diarise self care time. Whether that be going to the gym, reading, meditation, or whatever. It really helps to actually get "it" done, whatever "it" is. 6️⃣ Switch off, properly, after a certain time. My absolute latest is 7pm. I tried a few times to do more in recent weeks, and it never works. Home time = Family time. End of. 7️⃣ Blue light blockers. Game changer. 8️⃣ Don't back down to bullies. Happy Friday y'all. ✌️

  • Why it makes sense to work outside of an MSP model, when looking to hire the best SAP talent in the market!

    Director & Founder | SAP | S/4 HANA | Project Management | Future Technology

Does your organisation operate within an MSP model when looking to hire external SAP resources? Well, you could find yourself at a disadvantage very quickly, as the competition for the best talent increases as we get closer to the ECC support deadline in 2027 (for now). Here's a few reasons why you should consider changing your model to work directly with staffing partners, rather than via a "middle party".

  • When you choose your staffing partner, how important are a company's brand values to you? Does it make an impact? We live and breathe ours, unashamedly.

At Reilcom Technology Staffing, we practice our brand values in everything we do. Whether it be advising a client on the right staffing strategy for onboarding specialist freelance SAP resources for their project, speaking with an SAP Consultant who is looking for a new project, or championing the merits of working with SAP freelancers... our brand values guide us in our mission. 🎯Simplicity 🎯Accountability 🎯Service 🎯Honesty Get in touch if you want to know more 😊.

  • Will you stick, or will you twist? The great SAP S/4 HANA vs ECC 2027 dilemma... Here at Reilcom Technology Staffing we can help you make this crucial decision... book a meeting using the link in the comments!

    Director & Founder | SAP | S/4 HANA | Project Management | Future Technology

Stick or twist? The great SAP S/4 HANA vs ECC 2027 dilemma... You're a medium-sized, European-based manufacturing company, and use SAP ERP 6.0 (ECC) as your company's ERP system. You invested millions into its adoption and maintenance, and your business runs smoothly with it. You couldn't imagine life without it. It's your company's gold reserve. But what's that coming over the horizon? It's SAP, and they've announced that ECC maintenance will end in 2027, and they're suggesting that you should upgrade your system to their new flagship S/4 HANA platform, via a costly greenfield implementation. What are you to do? ❓Do you really want to start all over again? Costing millions to implement a new greenfield solution? ❓ What are the risks to the implementation? What if it fails? What will the impact be on your production capacity? ❓ What are the risks of NOT implementing S/4 HANA? Can you make do, and perhaps engage another company to look after the maintenance? Well, all of the questions are valid, and I've heard it a lot when I speak with prospects and customers. My suggestion is simple. Before you make this massive, and potentially extremely costly decision (there are costs attached to sticking AND twisting, by the way), why not engage an independent freelance advisor who can assess your landscape and make suggestions? SAP freelancers have worked on multiple S/4 programs, and you can be sure to receive strong independent advice. Sound interesting? Well get in touch and we'll connect you with an ideal match in 24 hours. My Calendly link is in the comments. Feel free to book a call! Peace & Love ✌️
