Last month, Alan Skipper and Jon Edinborough from our Design team set off on an incredible 10-day, 1,000-mile cycling adventure from Land’s End to John O’Groats 🚴 Riding through the diverse landscapes of England and Scotland, facing everything from steep climbs to the typically turbulent British weather, they were rewarded with breathtaking views of iconic landmarks like Ironbridge, Clifton Suspension Bridge, Loch Ness, and beyond ⛰️ Despite the physical toll, they were driven by the amazing support for our Newark office charity, Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, and raised a total of £1,400 👏 Thank you for all of your support 🌟 #LEJOG #LincsNottsAirAmbulance #fundraising #cycling

RPS tackled one of Scotland’s highest peaks in Munro this past week to fundraise for Water Aid’s vital work in Rwanda! The 2024 Munro Challenge took place this past week, inviting hundreds of participants, RPS included, to take part in the experience. The event took place almost 30 years since the first teams of water and wastewater workers took to Scotland’s highest peaks to raise money for charity. RPS has participated in this exciting and meaningful event for almost twenty years. However, it was Graduate Engineer, Daniel McGuigan who decided to renew the tradition at RPS, stronger than ever. “The work Water Aid does is commendable.” Daniel says “Almost one in five people in the world don't have a decent toilet of their own and almost one in ten don't have clean water close to home. This is something that we ought to work together to give people and this is something anyone can do; by getting involved.” The RPS team chose to climb Ben More. At 1,174m and with an elevation of 986m, this Munro made for a challenging and steep climb. Despite this and the powerful winds and heavy rainfall, the team braved onwards till they reached the summit. Here, they triumphantly unfolded their team flag, and stretched it out wide, admiring their victory and revelling in a successful conquest for a valiant cause! Despite the wind knocking them down right after! The event ended up raising an astounding £41,000 for WaterAid! Innes Gilling, Assistant Modeller concluded with an inspirational message. “Working within the water industry, we all recognise the challenges and costs associated with providing a functioning water distribution network, and the Munro challenge is a brilliant opportunity to give back to the wider community and make a difference.” Read the full article here – https://loom.ly/Z42SPAA #MunroChallenge #RPS #RPSUK #RPSUKNL #WaterConsultancy #WaterAid

Yesterday, our planning team and Tetra Tech Europe colleagues joined forces for a great roundtable discussion with the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), Sherin Aminossehe, Director of Infrastructure, and Air Cmdr Paul Yates 💬 Kicking off the discussion, Louise Sheppard, Consultant – Transport at RPS, shared her insightful briefing note on the strategic objectives of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO). We then explored the priorities and opportunities for housing and infrastructure across the defence estate, and how the private sector can work with the DIO in helping to repurpose and deliver sites.
