  • *Job vacancy alert* Multisystemic Therapist CAN Supervisor Band I SCP 44 – 47 (£52,571 - £55,800 per annum) dependent on experience and a relocation allowance of up to £6,500* plus excellent benefits. Fixed term contract until September 2026 An exciting opportunity has arisen for MST CAN Supervisor to join the newly developed MST CAN Team in Sandwell. This is a funded pilot programme from the Youth Endowment Fund and supported by MST-UK & Ireland running from October 24 to September 26. This pilot will have an external evaluation led by Universities of Kent and Teesside. MST CAN is a home-based intensive treatment for families with children and young people subject to a Child Protection Plan under the category of neglect or physical harm. It is an evidenced based treatment that has been developed to work with families with complex needs, in order to increase safety and keep children at home. MST CAN works to address specific problems and risk factors that brought the family to the attention of Children’s Social Care. The major goals are to keep families together, assure that children are safe, prevent abuse and neglect and reduce mental health difficulties experienced by adults and children, including addressing the impact of past trauma and increase natural support networks. MST CAN adopts an intensive approach (numerous sessions per week) and works with families in their natural ecology (their home, school and wider community) rather than in a clinical setting. Appointments are made to meet the family’s needs and an MST CAN Practitioner is available 24/7 to all families in treatment through an on-call rota. Good Morning everyone! My name is Liv Harris and I am doing work experience here within the Trust, as aforementioned in a prior post. This is an extraordinary milestone for Sandwell Children's Trust, as I am the first of hopefully many more work experience students to come. I am honoured to be here this week to find out more about how the system works internally, in addition to dipping my toes into the world of family law (to do with social services and fostering). So far this week I've attended several meetings to do with upcoming events; observed and facilitated some inductions for new staff; helped to organise yesterday's Marketplace event and finally some public speaking to introduce both myself and the event. Later on this afternoon I will be hearing about Coming into Care visits alongside some Transition visits, and this evening attending Voices of Sandwell. The next few days will consist of creating internal staff comms, more social media posts and attending Total Respect Training. All of this I'm doing as part of the Participation and Engagement team, who have wholly welcomed me and made me feel both secure and comfortable within the Trust. #FCF24 #children #fostersandwell #sandwell #makingadifference #workexperience #students #youngpeople
