At our annual afternoon tea event at the House of Lords, we celebrated remarkable women who have made significant impact in culture, advocacy and literature, using their voices to champion social justice, equality, and the preservation of cultural identities. Each table was named in their honour and hosted by present-day inspirational women. 🌟 The Catherine Dior table, hosted by Jill Pay, symbolised courage and resilience, paying tribute to Dior's legacy as a French resistance fighter. 🌟 The Fatou Diome table, led by Sue Lawton MBE, highlighted the power of storytelling and identity, reflecting Diome’s work on immigration and the African diaspora. 🌟 Brenda King MBE FRSA hosted the Ida Fiyo Mntwana table, honouring the legacy of activism and social justice. 🌟 The Mona Al-Mundhiri table, led by Noreen Burroughes Cesareo FRSA, emphasised the importance of cultural preservation and education. These women, both historical figures and our contemporary hosts, remind us to lead with courage, conviction, and passion. Now, through the work of Savvitas, we aim to pass on their outstanding achievements. #WomenInLeadership #Inspiration #WomenEmpowerment The Earl of Erroll Helene Martin Gee Baroness Manzila Uddin Baroness Sandy Verma Antonella Ragona Angelique Mohring Lisa Gus Julie Baker Yvonne G. Looking back at our #Savvitas17 afternoon tea, with each table named for a notable woman, the Baroness Betty Boothroyd table, led by the inspiring Helene Martin Gee, symbolised trailblazing leadership. We were honored to have the incredible Baroness Floella Benjamin as our special guest of honour. Like Baroness Boothroyd, the first female Speaker of the House of Commons, Baroness Benjamin has broken countless barriers, inspiring generations with her strength, resilience and dedication. We were thrilled to see the inspirational Tessa Sanderson CBE with #TeamGB in Paris, what a great opportunity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her own historic Olympic Gold in Los Angeles 1984. Tessa is the first Black British woman to achieve a Gold Medal! We’re so proud of our fabulous Patron and were delighted to help Tessa celebrate this milestone achievement recently at the House of Lords, in partnership with Variety, the Children's Charity and #BlackOnSilver, along with her family, friends, her coach, and many fellow athletes and Olympic medallists. Overfilled with pride and joy, graduating with an MSc in Data Science for Business is a tremendous personal achievement for me. Transitioning from a marketing background to someone who understands and works with data—what a journey it has been! Thank you, Dr John Saint , for teaching us data analytics as if it's everyone's cup of tea. You made it easy and joyful for us. Thank you, Tatiana M. Martinez , for all the practical and highly enthusiastic classes. Thank you, Kaye Nightingale , for revealing another side of me. I was panicking, but you were the one who made me realize I could do this, and yes, I did it. Now data visualization and data storytelling have become a part of me. Thank you, Dr Bhavini Desai , for all the cheer and support you showed me every time we spoke. Maybe this is what it means to "Passing with flying colours." 😉 Regent's University London is one of the best Universities you could be in!!
