About us

School for Social Entrepreneurs North West Provides start up, trade up, scale up & other social enterprise training, networking and ongoing opportunities for social entrepreneurs across the North West, UK. We are people centred knowing its the social entrepreneur founder / leader who drives forward their social enterprise... The School for Social Entrepreneurs North West was launched in Liverpool in 2007 in partnership with Blackburne House, one of the country’s leading social enterprises. To date, we have developed and delivered several intensive nine-month core programmes, including a Cultural Leadership Programme, a Transnational Programme, a Social Innovators in Health and Wellbeing Programme and the SSE’s first ever Environmental Programme. In addition, we developed and delivered several short and bespoke Associate Fellowship programmes centred on Action Learning Sets. In 2008 we developed an innovative SSE Programme for Young People and we continue to work closely with schools across the North West region, developing and delivering bespoke programmes.# Our Alumni goes from strength to strength and we now have more than 300 Fellows and Associate Fellows of SSE North West.

    The deadline to apply to the Women’s Enterprise Growth Programme 2024 has been extended to Monday 13th May. This exciting new programme will support women aged 18-35 living or working in London and Liverpool to develop the skills, strengths and networks required to grow purpose-led enterprises and in turn create new jobs for underserved communities. The programme is run by The School for Social Entrepreneurs with support from Youth Business International (YBI) and funded by Standard Chartered Foundation as part of Futuremakers by Standard Chartered. Participants will get a free 8-day learning programme, bespoke 1:1 business development and modelling support, a supportive peer network and the chance to pitch for one of four Match Trading grants of up to £7,000. It's designed to help you increase impact by building sustainability and resilience, increase customer acquisition and grow income.
