Where can the maritime industry start with generative AI? The maritime industry is one of the world’s oldest, and the challenges of today require many changes to centuries-old practices. The adoption of digitisation is one such change, and at Sea, we’re playing a pivotal role in driving global maritime trade forward by providing the intelligent marketplace for fixing freight. As the adoption and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) booms, we also have been gearing up to use our unique position in the industry to provide state-of-the-art AI solutions to our customers. As we embark on our AI journey, we recently attended the second Annual Generative AI Summit in London, a key event for leaders in AI, data, technology, and innovation. It has provided plenty of learnings to inform our progress. Kicking off our three-part blog series written by Data Scientist at Sea Roger Zorlu, we’ll be taking a deep dive into the key takeaways from the Summit, and how they are shaping our approach to AI adoption. Our starting point is context-specific models - the foundation of today’s most useful AI tools.
