Section 21 evictions, also known as "no-fault" evictions, are a major cause of homelessness - at least 26,000 households have been evicted through the law since 2019, according to Shelter. Section 21 allows landlords to evict tenants with just two months’ notice without giving them a reason. This leaves thousands of people who are renting in the lurch, forever unstable and unable to find a place to build a life. The insecurity can place a huge burden on people affecting their health and wellbeing. Some renters are afraid to speak out about issues with their housing for fear of being evicted. In tomorrow's #KingsSpeech, the Government must stick to its manifesto pledge to "immediately" ban so-called no-fault evictions and deliver further improvements for renters through the Renters Reform Bill. Together, let's make renting safer, fairer and more secure for families across the country. Everyone deserves a place to call home. #HousingCrisis #HomelessnessAwareness #Renting #EvictionBan

Let’s end the stigma around sexual health! The team at our women's services had a sex-positive day for our clients. 🙌 The event raised awareness about sexual health, empowerment, safety, and wellbeing for staff and residents. Our clients enjoyed goodies, chatted with professionals, got tested, and took a self-defence class. 🛡️ Thank you to the amazing staff for going above and beyond to make it happen. #SexualHealthAwareness #SexualHeath #WomensWellbeing

This #BankHolidayMonday, we just want to say Thank You! ❤️ Thank you for following this page and supporting our work. We’re the first to admit we’re not a household name. (𝘞𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘴.) Yet, somewhere along the way, we caught your attention—and you realised we mattered. For that, thank you - thank you for joining us on our mission to end homelessness in our city. Homelessness isn't inevitable, and it can be ended. #LondonCharity #Homelessness #Supporters #BankHoliday

PREVENTION FIRST 🛑 Every year, we work to prevent Londoners from losing their homes, rather than waiting until they are at crisis point. We provide long-term support with a range of challenges including health issues, debt and arrears and benefit concerns. We also provide help with money management, living skills and employment support, so these Londoners can maintain their own tenancies and continue to live independently in the future. #OurImpact #LondonCharity #HomelessnessAwareness #HousingSupport

IN HER WORDS, SANDRA🗣️ “I was homeless for five years.” “I started shoplifting and every year I would end up in prison. I thought I couldn’t get out of the hole. It was like a circle, I kept on going around and around.” “Since I came to Single Homeless Project, I haven’t looked back. Grace House is the best hostel I’ve ever been in. I’m happy where I am now, I feel safe.” Sandra's Story 👉 https://lnkd.in/eKpivj_V #RealStory #RealStories #Quote #FeelGoodFriday #FridayFeeling #SupportedAccommodation

#ThrowbackThursday time. 👇 Last November, we were in Stylist Magazinewith a three-page feature highlighting our pioneering work in supporting women experiencing homelessness. The piece delves into the unique and traumatic experiences women face while living on the streets. We’re proud of the three extraordinary women who shared their powerful, albeit hard-to-hear, stories speaking about experiences of abuse, neglect, and fear. Unfortunately, these aren’t isolated experiences. For women sleeping on the street, violence and abuse are nearly universal. That’s why our work, from our specialised women’s services to co-leading the first-ever National Women’s Rough Sleeping Census, is critical to ensure women experiencing homelessness get the proper support they need and deserve. Did you know renters can currently be evicted in just 8 weeks under Section 21? Even if they’ve done nothing wrong – a no-fault eviction. The Renters Rights Bill is set to change that and make renting fairer by giving tenants more power and rights. 💪 It will axe Section 21... and deliver more to give renters the security and comfort they deserve. ❤️ We look forward to the progress with the Bill in the autumn. #Renting #Renter #Eviction #Section21 #HousingCrisis
