Last week, we spent a very rewarding day putting our gardening skills to work at the The London Cancer Hub! The Socius team worked with Kingston Landscape Group to transform an unloved garden into a blooming spot to rest and recharge 🌷 Spurred on with positive feedback from staff at The Institute of Cancer Research and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust as well as endless cups of tea from the Oak Cancer Centre Cafe, the team prepared the beds and planted a variety of new plants and flowers 💪 We look forward to checking on the progress over the coming months and if you are in the area, pop in for a sit down 🌼 Huge thanks to London Borough of Sutton for their assistance with making this happen 👏 The Socius Team: Katrina Lamberton, Izzy Meeke, Joel Colthart, Phil Wade, Doug Higgins, Barry Jessup, Victoria Birks, Olaide Oboh, Luke Martin, Daniel May & Connie. #volunteering #community #londoncancerhub #gardening #sutton #TeamSocius

Alongside our work with London Borough of Sutton on the The London Cancer Hub development, we're helping to promote the Open House Festival taking place from 14-22 September. Sustainable development and environmental protection is a top priority for Railpen and throughout demolition and construction, we will be recycling as much existing building materials as possible for reuse in the new development. Our ambition is for less than 5% of materials from the existing buildings located on site to be disposed of following demolition, accounting for materials that are no longer safe for usage. Bricks and concrete will be crushed and screened to produce recycle aggregates that are reused in the construction of our buildings and roads, and 95% of ALL materials from the project will be reused, including, where possible, windows and doors. #SustainableDevelopment #Sustainability #Recycling #Reuse #Cambridge #Cambridgeshire

An internationally renowned design studio has been announced by Railpen and Socius as winners of the competition to design a new Cambridge community pavilion competition at the Devonshire Gardens development 🏆 With expressions of interest from 40 teams based around the world to develop an innovative and sustainable design for the outdoor pavilion at the centre of the new public park within the site, five finalists were shortlisted and the stunning design from George King Architects (GKA) called ‘Three Trees Pavilion’ won the hearts and minds of the diverse judging panel 👏 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eAMx2-He #design #outdoorspace #communityspace #architecture #community #competition #Cambridge

Recently, representatives from Socius , Skanska, JLL, Bidwells and Conscious Communications took part in a day of volunteering at Ravensworth Gardens Play Area with Cambridge City Council. Did you know that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month? In June 2022, Vesynta became the first HealthTech company to move into the new lab and open office space within the Innovation Gateway at The London Cancer Hub. With roots in University College London (UCL), the start-up was founded with a mission to deliver health equity to under-represented patient populations, such as children, by supporting safer and more efficacious regimens that are tailored to each patient. Vesynta is currently developing a clinical decision support software, DosoLogic, that helps clinicians and life science companies maximise therapeutic potential, by offering interpretable and personalised dosing insights at the point of care.
