Today, we’re proud to celebrate Employability Day and reflect on the impact we've had supporting individuals from all walks of life on their journey to finding meaningful employment. Through our No Limits Programme, funded by the UK government through the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) and in partnership with Aspire Oxfordshire, we’ve been helping people in countless ways—from providing travel bursaries for those attending college, to offering one-to-one support with CV writing, apprenticeships, pre-apprenticeships, and preparing both young and older individuals for the workforce. One of the stories we’re especially proud of is Joel’s. He came to us unsure about his future, but with tailored support and guidance, we helped him navigate his job search. Within just a few weeks of collaboration, No Limits facilitated three interviews for Joel, leveraging our network and resources to provide valuable opportunities in the engineering field. This journey provided him with stability, purpose, and a renewed sense of hope—all made possible through our strategic support and collaborative efforts. Now, Joel is on track to pursue a career he’s passionate about, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! At SOFEA, we believe everyone deserves the chance to achieve their potential, regardless of where they start. By helping individuals find their path, we’re not just building careers—we’re building futures. If you or someone you know needs help navigating their job search or career development, we’re here for you! Let’s continue making a difference together. #EmployabilityDay #NoLimitsProgramme #CareerSupport #JobSearch #CVHelp #Apprenticeships #BuildingFutures #EngineeringOpportunities #YouthEmployment #CommunitySupport #StabilityAndPurpose #StrategicSupport #UKGovernmentFunded #OxLEPSkills #AspirePartnership #TogetherWeThrive

Enabling the transformation of people's lives
About us
SOFEA was founded in 2014, with the focus of enabling people to transform their lives. We are a charity head quartered in Didcot with a second location added in Milton Keynes. Using surplus food, we distribute to thousands of people per week, across our local communities. We work with disadvantaged people, (mostly young people) helping them gain qualifications in English and Math, providing work experience and offering wellbeing support. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to find out further information on how you can support us. We offer corporate volunteering days, and various fund-raising events throughout the year. There is no doubt Social Prescribing is a great community initiative, but here are some stats that really put it into perspective. Social prescribing not only supports participants, but also our GPs and surgeries, community groups and organisations; connecting us all towards a common goal: happier, healthier communities. As our highlight week draws to a close, we would like to remind you how easy it is to get involved, if you need 1-1 support yourself, or if you want to get involved as an organisation just visit our website. There are so many fantastic initiatives in Didcot, so the more opportunities we have to work together, the better!
