We have launched a new ambitious project which aims to improve, restore and create habitat in one of the region’s most iconic and important areas for wildlife. Linking the Levels is a new nature recovery project which will focus on 17,230 hectares along the Severn Estuary. We will be working with a host of partner organisations, charities and local communities, including Bristol Avon Rivers Trust, Bristol Zoological Society, the West of England Combined Authority, the Environment Agency, Natural England , as well as the Severn Estuary Partnership and West of England Nature Partnership. Over the next two years, the project will be conducting ecological survey work and engaging with local communities to plan a full programme of work to seek further funding, alongside delivering some initial work on the ground. If you would like more information about the scheme and how you could get involved, email [email protected]. Have you ever thought about the power of grass cuttings? That's what our Greenprint project, part of ADEPT Live Labs 2: Decarbonising Local Roads in the UK, is investigating. We're turning waste into value by collecting grass cuttings from selected grass verges and green areas across South Gloucestershire to generate energy and reduce carbon emissions from the local highway network.
