Hybrid Inverter: The Secret You Missed! This SunSynk 3.6kW hybrid inverter has a hidden feature that could save you hundreds of pounds, often overlooked or misunderstood by installers. In this video, Gordon demonstrates how to unlock its potential. First, let’s revisit how a solar inverter works. A conventional inverter converts DC power from solar panels into AC power for household use or to feed back to the grid. A hybrid inverter, however, adds battery storage, allowing surplus energy to be stored and used later or exported during peak electricity prices. This inverter goes a step further with a built-in function that eliminates the need for a costly energy diverter. Using the auxiliary load feature, it repurposes surplus energy to heat water with an immersion heater, saving on gas heating costs.
