    When you're thinking about marketing and your BD outreach, remember that any one-time. Only 3% to 7% of people will be ready to work with you, which means a massive 93% are not. And historically, as an industry, we've concentrated heavily on that 3% to 7% and neglected the 93%. So this is why nurturing is really important because money won't change hands until people know, like, and begin to trust you. So remember that it's important to have nurturing campaigns in place to take people through that know, like, trust journey so that you get them to a point where they then become part of the 3% to 7%.

    Standing out in a competitive market like the recruitment and search industry is quite challenging 🤷♀️🤷♂️ And it's something that I know many owners scratch their heads about. I wonder what we can do that's different because everybody's doing pretty much the same thing. Here is one strategy we can do that is heavily underutilized. AND dare I say it… cold calling. Now, if you get over the fact that we were taught not to talk to strangers, not to bombard people, we don't know with lots of questions, if you just move beyond that, build your skill, build your confidence, cold calling could work for you 👍👍 Trust me, there are not many people who are leveraging cold calling in the way that they could. Do that, and you will stand out.

    Most businesses are sat on an untapped gold mine 🙋♀️ Why? When you think about your first-degree connections on LinkedIn, think about people in your database who you've had relationships, but maybe now they've cooled off because you just haven't been in touch for a while. So, first-degree connections and all those people in your database are your gold mine. Avoid falling into that trap of thinking, well, people don't want to hear from me. People do. Yes, they've got many people reaching out to them regarding the recruiters, yet they've had a relationship with you. Have a system and a process where every day, you reach out to a specific number of your first-degree connections, people in your database who may have just lapsed, and clients. And, of course, remember that we can email, phone, and mix up all the different mediums.
