    Radically re-inventing the electrolyser!

The biggest players in energy and chemicals (who are players who use hydrogen today!) are already spending real money on huge projects. The doubts expressed about the reality of green hydrogen and the potential of the market are unfounded. We don't need hydrogen in our homes or in our cars for electrolysers to drop the world's emission profile by over 20%. As always, electrify where it makes sense. Green hydrogen's happening where it makes most sense - fertilisers, fuels, bio-fuels, e-fuels, chemicals - heavy industry to follow! Shell yesterday committed to another 100MW on top of their 200MW Holland 1 which comes online later this year! https://lnkd.in/efMhs72V

High-Pressure Hydrogen: Straight to Business Operating at 220 bar and maintaining 95% efficiency, we're pushing boundaries for a reason: to truly meet the needs of industry. High-pressure hydrogen cuts out the middleman. No need for additional compression – our electrolyser delivers hydrogen straight to your application. This translates to massive gains in efficiency and cost savings across various sectors: - Ammonia Production: Traditionally, hydrogen needs compression before ammonia synthesis. Our system delivers it ready-to-go. - Refineries: Cleaner fuel production relies on hydrogen to remove impurities. Our high-pressure output streamlines this process. - Fuel Cells and Chemical Industry: Both industries heavily utilise hydrogen. Higher pressure from the get-go means fewer processing steps. We already have signed pre-commercial contracts in all of our target sectors, which could be worth over a £1billion through to 2032 to test and implement projects utilising our supercritical electrolysis technology. Efficiency you can count on Supercritical’s approach isn't about stripping away features – it's about honing the process to where it's already most effective. By simplifying the supply chain, we've not only reduced capex and boosted scalability, but our entire system operates at a staggering 95% efficiency (compared to the 50-60% range typical of traditional methods). Our supercritical electrolysis solution offers a scalable and cost-effective path to clean hydrogen production. By eliminating the need for expensive materials and complex setups, we can significantly reduce the barrier to entry for hydrogen across various industries. Stripping Back for Breakthroughs Imagine a traditional electrolyser – a tangle of components, each adding complexity and cost. We took a hard look and decided it was time for a change. Our supercritical electrolysis approach throws out the rulebook. No iridium, no membranes, no rare earth metals, no PFAS "forever chemicals," no bulky cooling stacks, and no need for gas compressors. This translates to a simpler, cheaper system with a significantly lower carbon footprint during manufacturing – more than half the carbon footprint of traditional electrolysers. We've designed a new electrolyser that doesn't just function – it thrives under optimal conditions. The sweet spot for efficient chemical reactions lies in the high-pressure, intermediate-temperature range. Existing electrolyser technology struggles in this zone, but our approach unlocks its full potential. Last week some of our Product Team were at Suntory Global Spirits' Auchentoshan Distillery to check out the site for a Phase 3 deployment our next generation, high pressure, ultra-efficient electrolyser technology. Auchentoshan's triple distillation is steam heated. Suntory Global Spirits aim to decarbonise their operations by 2040, and low cost hydrogen is going to play a pivotal role in accomplishing that goal. Exciting times for Supercritical and our game-changing technology!

Thanks to Just Drinks for featuring Supercritical's partnership with Suntory Global Spirits as they deep dive in to the uses for #hydrogen in the #drinks sector. Direct firing copper stills is one of many decarbonisation methods being explored in the drinks industry. The sector is leading the way in deploying hydrogen for #decarbonisation in glass production and steam raising as well. Low cost #greenhydrogen is helping to make that happen! https://lnkd.in/evsT5VkK #whiskhy #greenenergy #whisky #distillery #supercritical #renewables
