Want to hit straighter golf shots? 🏹 In this 2 minute video, you be show exactly how your wrists are meant to move during your swing, and use that new info to hit it straighter ! How do the wrists work in your swing? Wrists move in two directions up and down / side to side The combination of these moves will have a huge impact on how open or closed your clubface is at different parts of the swing Up hinge plus side to side hinge = opening and closing the clubface Down hinge plus side to side hinge = steepening and shallowing the shaft *Forearm roll has the opposite effect, but that is for another video! Actionables/drills: Watch the video for a quick drill to cure your slice forever!

A drill you won't have seen before...and its not to fix your swing! To see what swing thoughts work best for you, internal vs external vs neutral, we want you to perform this quick test Harry is going to hit 10 shots focusing on getting his hips more open at impact, an internal focus and something he is currently working on in his swing He is then going to hit 10 shots focusing on his clubhead travelling on a more neutral path, and keep the face more open at impact to prevent the ball hooking left, an external focus and something he is also working on in his swing and see which performs best Followed by 10 shots with a neutral focus The winner is the 10 shots with the best carry distance and offline averages/deviations Using Trackman obviously makes this far easier, but there are range technologies where you can get similar data If you don’t have any technology, go on the golf course and hit into a green or fairway, or use a more qualitative approach. There can be very big differences in performance when changing your focus, so the best performing can be very easy to find determine Results As you can see, an external focus performed best for Harry That’s not to say an internal or neutral one might not perform best for you If you’d like to get even more precise with this, you can test many different internal and external focusses. For example, where you hit the golf ball on the face, your attack angle, shifting your weight left etc etc You can even test multiple swing thoughts at once or a combination of both!

What should you think about during your swing? Most golfers, when they play, have lots of swing thoughts going on in their head. Keep your left arm straight, head down, turn your hips. Sometimes the list is endless. Not only is having a lot of swing thoughts often bad for your golf performance, but the type of swing thought can be just as important, if not more There are two main types of swing thoughts: > Internal Swing Thoughts - By far the most common, these are thinking about your body e.g. what is your head doing, arms doing > External Swing Thoughts - Nowhere near as common in regular golfers, but far more in tour professionals. These are things like focusing on the golf club (For example, the angle of your clubface at impact) or the target (For example, visualising the shot) Which is better? There have been numerous studies completed on this in various sports and external thoughts have always won Within a study of 20 people, there may be a group of people who perform better with internal thoughts, but external has always won in the majority Which is ironic, because the vast majority of golfers not only think internal, but they have numerous internal thoughts going on at the same time, which is another issue in itself When you hear tour professionals saying they like to keep it simple when playing, they will often do so by having an external focus, such as visualising the shape of the shot, rather than an internal one, such as trying to flex their wrist Neutral Focus As well External and Internal, we can also have a neutral focus A neutral focus is when we think about nothing! It’s particularly relevant in Golf, because we are expected to swing the golf club at 100+mph in less than a second, after starting from a static position for so long time, that it’s easy to overthink things You may know a friend, or even have heard a tour professional say they play their best golf when they think about nothing!

How good is your ball striking? One of our 3 skill pillars at Tee Box is face contact. To develop this skill, you need to measure it! Challenge: Hit 20 shots with your driver in one of our Trackman simulators > Click all shots to see the same strike location grouping as below > Compare your grouping to our suggested handicap > Repeat the process with any other club If you are struggling to hit the centre of the face, book a session with our expert fitter, or a lesson with one of our coaches

Struggling to make a full backswing? It could be due to your takeaway….🤔 In this 3 minute video, Co-Founder Liam, shows you how to make a perfect takeaway, so you can complete your backswing with ease! Checkpoints: > The position of the clubface when the clubshaft is parallel to the ground (takeaway) is very much dependant on what type of grip you have > We definitely want some opening of the clubface, into the takeaway, with a neutral grip you should see the clubface roate so the toe is pointing up towards the sky! How do you open the clubface into your takeaway? > The arm and shoulder and are very complicated, and both move independently in the swing. > You actually have 3 shoulder joints within each shoulder, and you have lots of bones, increasing in number the closer you get from your upper arm to your fingers! ..... Let’s simplify by combining the two into ‘arm roll’ as one bleeds into the other There has to be 90 degrees of arm roll in your backswing and that will allow you to complete your backswing! Problem > When you try and ‘hood’ the clubface so it points parallel to your spine angle or more, it rolls the trail arm in the wrong direction (closes it) > This not only puts the shoulder and elbow into positions which limit range of correct golfing motion within the joints.. > It also limits the range of motion of the club, by steepening the shaft What we want to do > Watch the video for a full clear explanation! > We want a little bit of lift and roll of the arms > With a neutral grip, this should result in the clubface pointing up towards the sky > Practice this instead of trying to keep the clubface closed in the takeaway > That lift and roll will just continually increase as you move into the backswing > There are also plenty of wrist movement as well, but this is for another video

A great drill to get the best out of your swing! We will be sharing many performance-related drills For now, here is one of our favourites for you to try now and improve your Driving accuracy. It’s called the “Left/Right Danger” Watch Co-Founder Harry give it a go.... - First, grab your driver and determine where you miss the majority of your shots on the golf course. Mine is “Left.” - I have a fairway that starts at 270 and is only 44 yards wide. Ouch. - I’m going to hit 10 shots, and for everyone I miss left, it’s -3 points - For every shot I miss right, it’s -1 point - For every shot at the target, it’s 1 point - Your goal is to get + points at the end - If it’s too hard, make the fairway wider, if it’s too easy, make it narrower. - I’m going to hit 3 shots and see if I can get + points

What are the benefits of performance training? The longest walk is from the range to the 1st tee... If you hit it great on the range but rubbish on the golf course, probably because you don’t do performance training Overall benefit, helps with the transference of performance on the practice range to the golf course by: - More random practice and less block, “Golf-like” - Re-creating the pressure you feel on the golf course - Shifts your focus away from technique / internal focuses to external ones - Develop consistent routines
