Following on from yesterday’s post, as promised, here’s part 2 of my top tips for success at an event as a sponsor or exhibitor: ➡ Swot up on the app: If the event has an app, figure out how it works and get your team on it! You can often scan attendee badges and even profile leads within the event app, making it super easy to pass this to your sales team post-event for the all-important follow up! You can also schedule meetings and plan which sessions you want to attend within there so it’s an incredibly useful (and often under-utilised!) tool. ➡ Make sure you register your team in good time - that will make it very straightforward for them to access the event, whether it’s during set-up or on the main event days. If you’re visiting on set-up day, make sure you know when you can access the expo hall and whether there are any dress code requirements to meet health & safety standards during that time. ➡ Think about sustainability: More and more of our clients (and us!) are putting sustainability firmly on the agenda. If you’re exhibiting at multiple events, think about what materials you’re using in your booth design - can it be reused or repurposed at a subsequent event? Can you build a modular booth that’s transportable and can follow your team around their events? It might cost a little more up front, but you can make real savings if you re-use it multiple times. At Terrapinn, we’re one of the pilot members of the Better Stands Initiative which aims to reduce single use disposable stands at events - we’ll be rolling out more information on this in the coming months or you can Google it to find out more! ➡ Share the love: Invite your clients, prospective clients and colleagues down to join you at the show. Events are always a hive of activity and it’s another opportunity to show how you can stand out from your peers. ➡ Build a relationship with your account manager: They can help you answer questions, get you first dibs on stand choice next year, bring a potential customer over because they thought of you when they met them and so much more.
