  • Our third and final post-election members' forum takes place on Tuesday 16th July, 10am. tCI Members can register for this exclusive event in their member account area. https://lnkd.in/egDav6eK This forum is designed for peer-to-peer discussion, and is entirely member-driven, allowing you to freely engage with your fellow members and explore the implications of the election results on your own terms. Whilst we won’t be there to facilitate, we will be there to ask: - What are your long-term predictions for the political landscape and its impact on consultation and engagement? - Does the election result impact current and future funding? - What actions can we take to improve public trust during this transition? #GeneralElection #Labour #Politics #Engagement

The week of the election coincided with Co-production Week 2024, a celebration of working in equal partnership with people using services, carers, families and the wider population. Here at the Institute, we’ve also been celebrating the week with some of our own thoughts and reflections on our experiences of delivering and supporting co-production. We recently met with Michelle Summers, Associate Director of Communications and Engagement at Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Health and Care Partnership, to discuss: • In-house co-production training undertaken by the team, and how the skills learned have been used in practice • Why co-production is so important to BLMK Health and Care Partnership and its stakeholders • The biggest challenges for Michelle and the team You can watch the video on the link below. https://lnkd.in/ezAZynQB Meanwhile, Andy Wright has written an article on Post election co-production, which you can read here. https://lnkd.in/eUsXG3JM #coproduction #coproductionweek #engagement #consultation

  • On Tuesday, we held the first of our exclusive member forums following the general election. Designed for peer-to-peer discussion and entirely member-driven, the 30-minute session enabled our members to talk about ‘what’s next’ following a change of Government. It was excellent to hear from a variety of different sectors on how the election outcome may impact organisations as well as professional roles. One key theme that emerged was the difficulty in being able to plan activities over the next couple of months as lots of major projects have stalled and could now be under review. Resource has been a continuous challenge across all our public sector members, and the forum discussed whether this is likely to improve as a result of a change of Government. The consensus was that it wasn’t likely to change and finance from Government is still a major issue in supporting with resource. ___________________________________________________________ The second of our post-election members' forums takes place tomorrow. tCI Members can register for this exclusive event in their member account area. https://lnkd.in/egDav6eK We will be asking: • How can we enhance community engagement in light of the election results? • What is the impact of the election result on existing programmes? • Do you have a backlog of public consultations to run?

  • A change in governing party doesn't happen very often. It's likely that change will be big - and quick; similar to in 1997 and 2010, The Labour Party will be keen to demonstrate its commitment to its promises. We spoke to some of our Associates and Fellows, including Anna Collins FCIM, Peter McColl and Susan Ritchie, to find out which changes they're expecting to see under the Labour government, their tips and advice for ensuring you're prepared, and their recommendations for consultation and engagement professionals. • Thank you to our members and clients working within the public sector and local government who are returning to work today after a night of counting votes and watching eagerly to see the results. 🗳️ Whilst the first few weeks will be taken up with familiarisation and new ministers settling into their departments, the wheels will already be in motion to start taking the legacy decisions left over from the last administration. But with Keir’s promise of ‘change’ still ringing in the ears, where - and when - might we start to see that change coming? We have lots of valuable resources to share with our clients and members in the coming days, but for now - thank you for all your efforts this Election! Make sure you're subscribed to be first to access our Election Hub ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/de_5kgg
