It was excellent to welcome racecourse veterinary surgeons from across the country to GBGB’s Track Vet Practical CPD Day at The University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science. As well as practical training delivered by Dr Merry Smith and GBGB's Dr Victoria Fraser, a range of insightful discussions were held, including on the progress of our welfare strategy, A Good Life For Every Greyhound. Attendees also heard from expert speakers Professor Madeleine Campbell, Associate Professor Richard Payne and GBGB Regional Regulatory Vet Dr Lawrence Steed. The sport of Greyhound does not exist, without the most wonderful breed of dog, the Greyhound. The Greyhound breed does not exist, without the most exiting sport, Greyhound racing. I’m of course, stating the obvious there! The Greyhound really is the most beautiful animal, and they make the most amazing pet with their very relaxed and docile temperament. I’m again, stating the obvious there - although most people don't know it. I’m very proud that here at Entain, our support for the racing Greyhound doesn’t stop when they retire. We’re supporting those lovely dogs find their much deserved forever home. We work very closely with rehoming centres to support those retired Greyhounds find a loving new owner and a sofa they will make their own. This most wonderful video, produced by the exceptionally talented Alexander Stuart and with the support of our rising star Danielle Patterson, promotes the Greyhound breed and how wonderful they are as a pet. I’d like to thank everyone who appears in this video......our human stars of the show, Alison, Chris, Emma etc but more importantly, I thank the real stars of the show, the beautiful Greyhounds themselves.
