What is a #charity? 🤔 Let’s break it down! The Kids Network is a #nonforprofit organisation that pairs volunteer mentors with children aged 8-11 in #London to help them grow in confidence and support their #mentalhealth. Charities like us rely on donations and support from the public to fund our activities like mentor training, #safeguarding courses, #mentoring activities, and group adventures for our #LittleLondoners. Our goal is to make a positive impact for children and their families by supporting them at a crucial time in their lives, in the lead up to and often during the transition from primary into secondary school. We do this by providing them with a volunteer mentor, a local hero from their London #community. Our statement on the racist and Islamophobic attacks and riots: “The Kids Network condemns the ongoing violent acts of Islamophobia and racism. This is a distressing time for all our communities. It is an especially difficult time for the children and their families from the global majority, who are worst affected by these horrific events. It is a direct challenge to the work of the Kids Network which is focused on creating connections, belonging and equality. We want to acknowledge and thank all those, including our staff, volunteers and supporters, whose words and actions over recent days have countered hate with unity and hope. In these anxious and fearful times, we need to stand in solidarity as a community. For this week's #FridayAd, we're taking a trip down memory lane to this collaboration with The Kids Network at the end of 2020. We had the pleasure of editing this impactful advert, which featured several #LittleLondoners paired with wonderful mentors. This partnership helped to support and guide these children during a crucial time in their lives. This pro-bono project was particularly meaningful to us, as we are passionate about assisting emerging charities in gaining the support they need through #drtv. It’s #FeelGoodFriday☀️ Today we wanted to share some #MyFutureMatters drawings from our #LittleLondoners that they made in our Big Give Campaign last month, because even if the campaign is finished - the message still stands for all of our mentees! Their future matters 👏 Thanks to the brilliant work from our team, partners and volunteer mentors, our #charity can continue making a positive impact from the ground up, support children in feeling happier and more confident about there futures - AND help them know they really CAN do anything they put their mind to. 🧠 Look into your own future, what are you looking forward to?
