And we’re back for a 3rd year 🫶🏾 We're super excited to be a partner at the OG running & music festival Love Trails ® between 11th - 14th of July. As a festival, they've always got it. Running and movement have to be for everyone. And to do that you need to build a culture around it that prioritises accessibility, diversity and fun....lots and lots of fun! We can't wait to get back to South Wales where our crew will host an amazing run experience and will be speaking about how running can drive change. We'll also have our Outrunners tent there, so, if you have a moment between all the running, hiking, swimming, and raving come say hi.....and don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket to support young people get moving in East London! ❤️🫶🏾❤️

About us
Our vision is to create an equal Hackney, where everyone is included and no-one is left behind. We believe that by bringing people together to improve their fitness, we can use the power of this collective energy to widen the possibilities for young people in Hackney. We help build young people’s confidence and skills through our activities in the local area, including our youth running club, careers events, work experience and coaching. With cuts to youth programmes, inaccessible jobs networks and career-services often lacking we believe these programmes are invaluable. Our Outrunners crew help to drive real change in Hackney and get involved in a number of ways: from volunteering, mentoring and coaching, to providing work experience opportunities. People generously donate their time to the charity, and we also rely on donations to be able to run our youth programmes and reach as many young people as possible.

We spoke to David at GQ about how the rise in people participating in half marathons has come alongside a much needed increase in diversity in running. “Running culture has seen massive growth over the past few years, and half marathons are a place for these communities to come together and celebrate.”
Earlier this year, in a moment of extreme hubris, I signed up for the Great North Run. There were a few reasons behind registering the biggest half marathon in the UK, besides the rush of misplaced enthusiasm that usually precedes a lot of pain and regret: a house move had left me stressed and with a little extra around the midriff. I'd done a 10k the year before and survived, and there was a worthy charity on board. I'd also run the Royal Parks half marathon eight years previously, so part of my psyche had undoubtedly decided to prove to itself that I hadn't aged and that the grey hairs were an aesthetic decision. The final straw was seeing Lil Nas X run a half marathon in a pair of Coach basketball trainers – if he can plod 13 miles in those, I can do it in some actual running shoes. It's back! We're so excited to announce the return of our Outrunners Fun Run powered by MOJU at the London Marathon Community Track. On Saturday 1st June, whether it’s a mile, a 5k or a 10k there’s something for everyone. It’s not just about running, come along and cheer people on, they’ll be fun activities for the kids, a medal when they finish their race, refreshments and we’ll be playing the tunes to keep everyone moving! Lots of our young people will be running a race, some for the first time so come and get involved and support them. A huge thanks to MOJU and all their team for bringing their A-Game to make the 2024 Fun Run the best yet. Together, We MOVE!

What an incredible journey running my first ever marathon at the London Marathon 2024 with The Outrunners Charity The best part of running has to be the community, the people you meet along the way and the shared experience of training for a race. Grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community through delivering in-person injury-prevention workshops with The Outunners. Educating the community about running injuries, strength & conditioning, and smart training strategies for longevity and injury prevention has been profoundly rewarding. Grateful to have been able to help other runners overcome their injuries and then crossing the finish line at the same race, it's an incredible full circle experience. Health and fitness is a journey, not a destination. It's all about making it enjoyable and sustainable. Running has been a huge part of my sense of community and connection since moving to London. If you told me two years ago before I started running that I'd be running a marathon, I would not have believed you - but like a lot of people, it's fair to say I'm pretty hooked and I'm looking forward to many more miles to come! #running #marathon #londonmarathon #runningcommunity

Marathon season is in full swing. 🏃🏼♂️💨 It’s the most wonderful time of the year. With spring marathon season well underway, we had the pleasure of back-to-back weekends of festivities at the Manchester and London marathons. ✨ With a strong focus on community, we saw a handful of runners realise their potential in collaboration with adidas and Purdue Performance on the streets of Manchester. Whilst in London, thanks to Nike & The Outrunners Charity Marathon Academy, we celebrated the participation of underrepresented communities as more than 100 incredible individuals graced the start line of one of the most iconic races on earth.
