Donald Trump has ruled out the possibility of a second presidential debate against Kamala Harris, claiming that he was the clear winner of Tuesday’s contest. Harris’s team immediately called for a rematch next month after she and Trump stepped off the stage in Philadelphia. Polls indicate that the vice-president, 59, was the victor, even if the race for the White House remains too close to call

The European Central Bank has cut interest rates for a second time this year amid mounting concerns about a recession and receding inflation. The central bank of the 20 countries that use the euro lowered its main deposit rate by a quarter point to 3.5 per cent from 3.75% on Thursday. The move was widely expected and comes after the ECB began cutting rates in June. The euro was broadly flat against the dollar following the announcement at $1.101, while the pan-European Stoxx 600 index climbed by 1.13%, or 5.75, to 513.78. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.93%, or 75.88, to 8,269.83

🔺 Exposed: How I was pressured to sign up for high-risk plastic surgery in Turkey. Amid a surge in British medical tourism to Turkey, campaigners say young people are being rushed into high-risk cosmetic procedures at a range of clinics. Since 2019 at least 28 British medical tourists have died after travelling to Turkey for cosmetic treatments, according to the Foreign Office. Last year a coroner raised serious concerns about the death of one of these British patients, Melissa Kerr, 31, who underwent a BBL procedure in Istanbul. In March this year, Kaydell Brown, 38, a mother of two, also died after signing up for cut-price cosmetic surgery. Times journalist Charlotte Wace visited Clinic Center in London, who hold appointments to organise travel to Turkey for plastic surgery, as part of an undercover investigation into how Turkish clinics have been recruiting British patients for potentially dangerous plastic surgery. There is no suggestion that Clinic Center has been linked to any of the deaths of British patients in Turkey. 🔗Click the link below to read the full investigation

The world’s first private spacewalk, involving four citizen astronauts, is under way more than 300 miles above Earth. The Polaris Dawn mission is the first to provide non-government astronauts the opportunity to work in the vacuum of space, 59 years after a Soviet Union cosmonaut performed the very first spacewalk during the Cold War space race with America. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/euKU6YX4
