Join us and Places for People on the 20th of August at the Leonardo Hotel Edinburgh for an engaging event focused on the power of mentoring in supporting social tenants and addressing housing challenges. We have seen first hand how mentoring changes the lives of individuals, in turn improving the lives of their families and the wider communities. Mentoring is more than just finding a short-term solution to a problem. A trip to the bowling alley to give someone a break, a session learning how to paint or a referral to a food bank can all be life-changing for someone, and no two people are the same. 💙 Don't miss the opportunity to learn all about our relational mentoring approach, celebrate with us, and see how you too can make positive and sustainable change. Reserve your place at the link below! 👇 https://ow.ly/upT950SR4Qf

One of our directors, Hamish Robertson, has written a very insightful piece about the justice system in Scotland. 🤝 He says, "At the Wise Group we don’t just work in justice. We support families across Scotland with the cost-of-living crisis, energy bills and housing.  This allows us to tailor our New Routes programme to fit the needs of those we support. Every person who works with us is different. The reasons they went to prison in the first place are individual to them, as are the needs they have when they come out." #WiseWinWednesday Our Team Leaders met up in Newcastle for a PLC (People Leaders Contribution) session today! We had a mix of colleagues in person at our Beacon hub and online, and over 50 colleagues were in attendance! 🤩 While it was a productive session discussing our teams, values, and strategies, it was also lovely to see so many of our colleagues in a room together having a well deserved catch up. 🤝 At the Wise Group, we know our colleagues work extremely hard to go the distance and create positive and meaningful change every day, so being able to let off a little steam, reflect, and chat about what is important and coming up is sometimes just what is needed! That's a Wise Win for sure! 🙌 Can't wait for the next one! 💙

#WiseWinWednesday A couple of weeks ago, we caught up with Cairne Quinn, one of our Fair Start team leads, to talk about our Attendance Allowance volunteering and how it has changed lives. 💙 Through volunteering out-with their normal working hours, Cairne and our Wise Group colleagues have been assisting people in our community to apply for Attendance Allowance. These forms can be quite tricky to fill in and this support has had a monumental impact. 🤝 Cairne tells us about one of the many people she has helped in the video below! Stay tuned throughout the week to learn more! 💙 #ChangingLives #Volunteering #TheWiseGroup
