The Centre for Conscious Design (CCD) is an international collective promoting the emergence of healthy built environments using Conscious Design principles. The organisation is dedicated to advancing the Conscious Cities Movement, acting as a gathering point for individuals and organisations to inspire, share knowledge, network, and collaborate. In supporting the development of the movement, the CCD works to advance education and research at the intersection of science, humanities, architecture, and urban design. Our aim is to enable our fellows, members, and others to actively participate in promoting health and well-being within their communities through the built environment.

Next Wednesday - join us at The Cave! The September 2024 edition will focus on the theme of Comfort and Accessibility. We will explore together thoughts and questions on this topic, for example: Who is being left out? Have we forgotten the body underneath the brain? Is comfort about privilege? Bring your ideas and experiences to explore how this important topic relates to the built environment and to your practice in particular. The Cave is a gathering space for members of the Conscious Design Network who are actively exploring the frontiers of science-informed, people-centered design. It is a space where you can seek inspiration, peer-to-peer support and a trusted community to navigate the complexities of a field and industry in development. Join us! Please register in advance: https://lnkd.in/dVDGygPb The Cave events are not recorded. Hosted by Marta Delgado

Thank you to Melissa Henschke of The Felt Experience podcast (Architypes of Interiority ) for the invite, the interest and the questions! I hope also, representing the values of our community at The Centre for Conscious Design (CCD). It's available to listen to on streaming platforms, and also on youtube if you want to sit with us among my plants. https://lnkd.in/dpGtGsU8
A few weeks ago we launched the inaugural event of “The Greenhouse” series with a session titled “Fostering Resilience: Lessons from Life at Sea.” This event focused on the broad concept of resilience, particularly as it relates to social challenges—such as scarcity, housing, and social connection—that are deeply intertwined with the structure of our built environment. Our guest speaker, Luca Tausel, presented a compelling proposal on how lessons learned from living on boats could inform and support the development of resilient land-based settlements. This unique translation of water into earth made it the most fitting choice to kick off a creative brainstorming process. Watch Luca's talk and read the event write-up: https://lnkd.in/dBCE9ta5 Organised and summarised by Marta Delgado. Thank you to the participants!
