🌪️💧 #StormLilian (22-23 Aug 2024): The final storm of the 2023/24 season brought a yellow weather warning for wind and rain. ⚠️ 🌬️ Impacts: The storm hit over the bank holiday weekend, disrupting travel, festivals, campers, and commuters. The strongest winds and heaviest rain occurred overnight and into the early morning. Reports indicate wind speeds exceeded 70mph, with official @metoffice figures still pending. 💧 🌪️ #StormKathleen (6-7 Apr 2024 ): A significant #storm as it was only the second time a named storm season has reached ‘K’ (#StormKatie, 2016) and the second time April has experienced a named storm since 2015 (#StormHannah, 2019). Storm #Kathleen caused #rain, #wind and #snow #weatherwarnings across the UK. 🌬️Impacts: Coastal areas experienced strong waves which caused coastal #flooding to many towns.
