Welcome to PlanBEE Rail! PlanBEE is a pioneering apprenticeship to address skills shortages and give young people in York the chance to launch their careers in the rail industry. Network Rail and their supply chain partners have joined forces with NSAR (the National Skills Academy for Rail) on the bespoke apprenticeship programme that aims to develop a new generation of multidisciplinary project managers, specifically trained to meet the changing needs of the rail sector.   During the two-year programme, the apprentices will undertake four six-month placements working for leading employers in the rail sector including Alstom, AmcoGiffen, Amey, Balfour Beatty plc, BAM Advies & Engineering, Keltbray, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, Murphy, Network Rail, SYSTRA, TransPennine Express and VolkerRail Ltd. Electric trains between Manchester and Stalybridge are go for TRU. The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is celebrating the first successful week of running electric trains carrying passengers between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge station. The electrification of this route marks a significant step forward in our commitment for greener travel and improving customer experience.   This key achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our fantastic teams, who have worked tirelessly to bring this project to life.   We’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone involved in this milestone, from our engineers, project managers and train operating colleagues, to our partners, customers and stakeholders.
