🎙️ 2 new episodes of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award’s Navigating Now podcast will be released on August 28th. Based on the Youth Voices 2024 research and co-created with young people, the podcast addresses key issues which matter the most to young people - e.g. cost of living, politics and global issues. Thinks Insight & Strategy was commissioned to conduct some research where we heard directly from young people about what matters to them. We quantified the attitudes, priorities and political engagement of young people in the UK, and followed up with a qualitative online community to explore this in greater depth. 👂 Listen to the podcast here: https://lnkd.in/gY3MJ57q 📚 Read the full Youth Voices report here: https://lnkd.in/ezU-2HHX #YoungPeople #YouthVoices2024 #Politics #PoliticalIssues

📣 There’s still time to sign up to Max Mawby’s upcoming webinar with Gorilla Experiment Builder and Sage on Online Research Advanced Tools: Social media & Website simulations with Gorilla. ❗We’ll present our recent behavioural experiment on combatting mis/disinformation and explain how playing a 45-second inoculation game could and should play a part in tackling online misinformation and have a real impact on meaningfully reducing its amplification. Check out the post below for more information 👇
📣 Join Max Mawby as he presents our recent behavioural experiment on combatting mis/disinformation at the upcoming Gorilla Experiment Builder webinar with Sage on Online Research Advanced Tools: Social media & Website simulations with Gorilla. ➡️ We’ll explain how playing a 45-second inoculation game could help slow the spread of harmful disinformation. In light of the events and disorder of the last few weeks, reducing the spread of fake news has never been more vital. Games like the one we’ve tested undoubtedly could and should play a part in tackling online misinformation and have a real impact on meaningfully reducing its amplification. The webinar will also look at how you can utilise social media and website simulations to study participant behaviour, including research questions and respective study design with Gorilla Experiment Builder that go beyond self-reported measures. 📅 Date: Wednesday, September 4th, 4:00PM 🎫 Register today: https://lnkd.in/dzAgJcrA Read more about our mis/disinformation experiment here: https://lnkd.in/e9UZQzxx

💬 New research shows that while young people feel part of their local community, they don’t feel listened to by politicians. To set the agenda for engagement with young people and provide a platform for them to share their voices, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award commissioned Thinks Insight & Strategy to conduct some research where we heard directly from young people about what matters to them. Findings highlight that young people feel the areas of concern for politicians are misaligned from their own. 🏠 While they perceive politicians as prioritising matters which broadly concern the UK, young people instead focus on matters which affect them daily and their vision of the future (housing, NHS, the economy). Despite their pessimism about politicians listening to them, two thirds of young people had engaged in one or more political activities over the last three months. 📝 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/ezU-2HHX

🌱 What should brands be aware of when it comes to sustainable messaging? Encouraging more sustainable consumption choices continues to be a challenge across the world. To begin to address such broad societal challenges, we firmly believe in meeting people where they are in their attitudes and behaviours. Our research identities key principles brands should keep in mind when encouraging people to consume more sustainably: 1️⃣ Keep it simple: Avoid complex claims that lack ‘ambition’ - even if they are impressive to experts. 2️⃣ It is not about you: make it about consumers (and aspirational): many brands talk about what they are doing – but people want to hear how they can help and make the right choice whilst living their life. 3️⃣ But calibrate it carefully: there is only so much consumers can do, don’t put it all on them – do the right thing as a business, talk about what matters to them and how they can help and don’t expect everyone to like it. 🧑⚕️ The health and social care system currently faces many challenges and pressures. NICE - National Institute for Health and Care Excellence supports the system with guidance on best practice and value for money. NICE commissioned Thinks Insight & Strategy to deliver a deliberative public engagement to explore public opinion on how it should prioritise its topics for guidance and advice to the health and care system. 🤝 The project was supported by Sciencewise, who enable policy makers and researchers to develop socially informed policy and strategy, with a particular emphasis on science and technology. Over the course of the engagement, participants heard directly from specialists working across the health and care system – from academics to NHS commissioners and front-line health and care workers – to hear about key challenges and priorities. 📣 Read our full article here: https://lnkd.in/extDXJJM #Deliberative #NICE #Healthcare #Health #Policy #Sciencewise

Carol presented our election diaries work at this event. You can read our final report here: https://lnkd.in/eewwVm2n And browse the diaries here: https://lnkd.in/emknZaR7
Honoured to be the ‘warm up’ act for the illustrious Justin Webb on election day at the Finance & Leasing Association conference, where I was reflecting on how we (as in, the public) are feeling right now, based on our Thinks Insight & Strategy election diaries research, and he was providing incredibly illuminating commentary on all things political. Sorry photography not my strong point!
