  • In 2023, our crew attended over 400 road traffic collisions. That's at least one major incident on our roads every single day. This #RoadVicitmMonth, our thoughts are with those who have been victims of road traffic collisions, as well as those who have lost loved ones and had their lives turned upside down. ❤️ We're also grateful to our crew, who bring hospital-level care to the roadside, and give patients the best chance of survival when the absolute worst happens. 🚁

  • After his mum was treated by our crew, ten year old Charlie was determined to give back to the service that cared for her. Using his love of cycling as a force for good, Charlie has raised over £1,100 for our lifesaving charity by cycling 19 miles from his home to the John Radcliffe Hospital, well and truly earning his spot as this week's #FridayFundraiser! We're touched that despite going through such difficult times, both former patients and their families so often dedicate themselves to giving back to us.❤️🚁

  • It's been a busy period for us. We were dispatched 15 times last Thursday and 12 times on Friday, marking two of our busiest days this year. 🚁 It costs £3,600 to send our helicopter on each lifesaving mission. We receive no government or national lottery funding, and rely solely on donations from generous people like you. Please donate today and help keep us flying. ▶️ https://bit.ly/3mvkJuQ

  • 🎉 Over £113,000 raised in ten years! 🎉 Let's hear it for Classics On The Crick , the annual vintage and classic car show that has supported Thames Valley Air Ambulance for over a decade. It takes a huge amount of drive to get this show on the road year after year. We would like to say a huge thank you to the organisers and volunteers who make this event possible, as well as everyone who attends. To put this incredible figure into context, it's enough to fund 60 lifesaving missions by critical care response vehicle. That's 60 real people, and their families, given a second chance when the worst happens. As an independent charity, community fundraising groups like this one are vital to keeping us at the frontline of saving lives. #FridayFundraiser

  • 🩸 Blood donors needed! 🩸 Last year, 96 critically ill or injured patients were given O negative blood by our crews - that's almost two people a week. If you're one of the one in seven people with O negative blood, please consider booking an appointment. Your donation can save lives. ❤️

🩸 National Blood shortage Amber alert 🩸 The recent London hospital cyber attack, combined with unfilled appointments at Donor Centres in town and city centres, has caused stocks of O type blood to drop to unprecedented low levels. The NHS urgently needs O type blood donors. O negative blood can be given to anyone. There are over 12,000 appointments available over the next two weeks, and we really need to get them filled. We know how amazing our donors are, and we need your help to make this possible. If you are an O type blood donor, please call 0300 123 23 23 to make an appointment or go to ➡️ https://orlo.uk/X2IQv

  • We all love the warmer weather, but did you know the sunshine helps our service? ☀️ While our critical care response vehicles are hard to miss, you might not have spotted the solar paneled sunroofs. This feature helps to power the vehicle's blue lights, which help our crew arrive to the scene of an emergency as quickly and safely as possible! 🚨

  • This #InternationalParamedicsDay, meet Emma, who became a paramedic because she wanted to make a difference. Did you know our paramedics also bring extra expertise to our charity when they’re not on scene? We have paramedics who specialise in education, or in data and how we can use it to tailor our care, and we have former paramedics who now make up our invaluable Aftercare team. Join us in thanking all our paramedics who make a difference every day across #Buckinghamshire #Berkshire and #Oxfordshire.

  • Today we celebrate #InternationalParamedicsDay by reflecting on the difference our paramedics make. When a person’s life hangs in the balance, their specialist training could be the difference between life and death. 🩸They can give blood to patients when every minute matters. 💊They can administer advanced drugs, such as ketamine which provides powerful pain relief. 🩺The kit they bring to the scene, like ultrasound, allows them to detect issues that might otherwise go unseen.   We might be celebrating them on International Paramedics Day, but our paramedics make a difference every day. To real people and their loved ones.

  • No one expects their fun day out to take a turn for the worst, but accident and injury can happen to anyone, at any time. On last night's episode of #EmergencyHelicopterMedics, our crew were called out to a patient who had a suspected broken femur and dislocated hip following a #motocross accident. In the video below, critical care paramedic Matt explains how we prepare on route to these types of emergencies, and what we do once we arrive on scene. 🚁📽️
