VINCI Facilities Gains Gold Award As a committed and key supplier to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the UK Ministry of Defence across the Regular, Reserve and Cadet Estate, in August 2024 the VINCI Facilities team were proud to attain the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award. Raising our status from ERS Silver to Gold has been a focus for the business over the last two years. A key strategy of our UK Defence Business is to ensure we promote the importance of the Armed Forces and Defence Community within VINCI, and across the wider public. The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme requires an organisation to be a signatory to, and an advocate of, the Armed Forces Covenant. As an ERS Gold employer we are committed to actively supporting military service leavers, their spouses, and Cadet Force Adult Instructors to establish fulfilling careers. We also provide our Reservists an additional 10 days fully paid leave and offer local Cadet’s opportunities to gain insight into infrastructure management, as well as undertaking initiatives to benefit the wider military communities. To achieve these aims we work closely with our partner organisation and charities, including BuildForce Programme, and to promote community engagement opportunities through our ‘Stand Out and Make a Difference’ employee volunteering scheme. On the announcement of this achievement Paul Cottam BEng(Hons), CEng, MCIBSE, MEI Managing Director, VINCI Facilities said: “I am delighted that our work with the military community has been recognised with an Employee Recognition Scheme Gold Award. This means a lot to our team and reflects the excellent collaboration between VINCI Facilities and key stakeholders working to support the Defence infrastructure in the South East.” We will continue to bring focus on assisting and helping those who serve in our Armed Forces and their families. #GoldERS24 #EmployerRecognitionAward #ArmedForces, #ArmedForcesCovenant #CareersinFM #FM South East Reserve Forces' & Cadets' Association Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Association for Greater London BuildForce Programme Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), Defence Relationship Management (DRM) UK Ministry of Defence

Wow! What a fantastic achievement by Liam and the team at Whiston Hospital. Huge congratulations to everyone involved for raising an incredible amount of money for a great cause! 👏👏
We did it! 🚴♂️🎉 Our wheels have finally stopped spinning after an incredible journey from London to Paris, all in support of the critical care unit at Whiston Hospital. Starting from the Princess Royal University Hospital, London and culminating at the VINCI Headquarters in Nanterre, Paris, every pedal stroke was fuelled by purpose and teamwork. I am beyond proud of our team's dedication and spirit. Together, we've not only conquered miles but also the challenges that came with them. This ride was more than a physical test; it was a testament to our collective resolve and camaraderie. The remarkable achievement of raising over £5,800 and counting, is a testament to the community's generosity and commitment to supporting those in need. These funds are crucial in enhancing the rehabilitation journey for our patients, providing them with access to better facilities, advanced therapies, and specialised equipment. Here's to a monumental achievement and the difference we've made for those in critical care. Our sore muscles are nothing compared to the immense sense of accomplishment and the impact we've created. Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way! VINCI Facilities #VINCIFacilities #VINCI #CyclingForACause #Teamwork #Endurance #CharityRide #WhistonHospital

Congratulations to Sarah Cassidy who recently began her new role as Sustainability Advisor. We caught up with Sarah who told us about her journey so far and what she hopes to achieve in her new job. Sarah started her career in Southall 24 years ago straight after leaving school: “When I left school, I had little work experience, and I took it upon myself to do a couple of days unpaid work so I’d have something to put on my CV. After completing the two days, the company I worked for offered me a full-time, permanent role! During my career, I have held a variety of positions both on our project teams and in head office that vary from Receptionist, Administrator, Team Secretary, Assistant Facilities Manager, Business Assistant and now to my new role as Sustainability Advisor.” “My experience within VINCI Facilities, across several teams and regions will be such a help in my new role. Knowing a lot of people across the business is a huge advantage – it’s not always what you know, it’s who you know! One of my key responsibilities is getting our sustainability and social value messages out to the wider teams, and having already built solid relationships with my peers will be a huge bonus. “My focus is on #SocialValue and I have a lot to tick off my priority list, starting with trying to make the process of organising and recording SOMAD days easier, improving our own circular economy by creating a PPE catalogue of pre-worn uniform for redistribution and establishing a network of volunteering opportunities with by partnering with local Fareshare distribution centres”. Sarah was drawn to her new role having been involved with the redistribution of college equipment and furniture, after the nearby Watford UTC was vacated and seeing what a difference a simple act like this can make. She worked with two local schools to relocate excellent quality science equipment, desks, chairs, sports equipment, and numerous other items - all of which has had a positive impact on the children and improved the school’s learning environments. “I was a little nervous when I took up this role – it’s a bit of a step away from what I have done before but I am really enjoying the challenge. It’s great that I can carve my own space in the team and there is so much that I want to achieve. From improving our processes, to promoting all the great work our teams do, to ensuring we deliver on our end of year targets – these actions we can all take, ensure that we are playing our part in our local communities and helping VINCI Facilities on our Social Value Roadmap. Congratulations Sarah! 🙌 #CareerProgression #NewRole #Sustainability

Our very own Operations Director, David Harris, passionate about sustainable leadership and innovation in the built environment...
FM leadership | Built Environment | Sustainability | Operations | Project Management | Compliance | Mobilisation
A topic I am hugely passionate about, and one that I am fortunate enough to be able to influence. I was glad to be invited by University College of Estate Management to support the development of their programme videos. I have learnt a huge amount about how crucial sustainable leadership and innovation in the built environment is over the last 12 months, through studying with UCEM. I'd be happy to discuss the course or topic with any of my connections. #climatecrisis #climatechange #sustainability #innovation

Cutting-edge Cancer Centre extends Facilities Management contract with VINCI Facilities VINCI Facilities are delighted to announce the two-year extension on the initial five-year term contract, delivering hard FM services to the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Liverpool. The contract, which was originally awarded in late 2019, and mobilised in February 2020, has now been extended to 2027. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, is in the heart of the city and sits alongside the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and the University of Liverpool. It provides specialist chemotherapy and other cancer drug therapies, radiotherapy, inpatient and outpatient care, cancer support and rehabilitation, bone marrow transplant and urgent cancer care. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust has also extended the VINCI Facilities contract, to cover its Wirral site. Owen Smith, Managing Director Clatterbridge PropCare Services Ltd said: “VINCI Facilities consistently provides a fantastic service at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Liverpool. From the outset, in mobilising a new Cancer Centre during a global pandemic, VINCI Facilities have become a valued and trusted site partner. “The VINCI Facilities team ensures the hospital is compliant, safe and that the staff and patients are provided with a first class environment whilst continually looking for ways to add value and innovation. As a result of this first class service, we are very happy to be extending our contract to continue working with VINCI Facilities through to 2027 and welcoming VINCI Facilities as service providers at our Wirral site.” Paul Cottam BEng(Hons), CEng, MCIBSE, MEI, VINCI Facilities Managing Director said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the team. This contract extension is a true reflection of a relationship built on collaboration and respect. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool opened during the first wave of the pandemic, an incredibly challenging era in NHS history. "But we have stood, side-by-side with the Trust to ensure the Centre can continue to deliver cutting-edge treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy and ultimately, change the lives of so many dealing with a diagnosis and undergoing cancer treatment.” #facilitiesmanagement #clatterbridge #nhs
