Placements are over and it’s Festival day tomorrow! 🎉🎉🎉 A massive thank you to all the employers who offered placements to students on the London Insurance Life Futures Academy 2024. We had 150 students on placement from Monday to Thursday this week at over 40 different employers. Anyone have a feeling of deja vu? 🤔 Back at Lloyd's welcoming our second cohort of 75 students to this year’s Visionpath x London Insurance Life Futures Academy. It’s Day 1 for these students getting to grips with risk thanks to Vilma Marques Chartered Insurance Institute, learning about careers across specialty insurance with our market volunteers, and later we’ll be helping students work out potential future pathways based on their strengths. Meanwhile, our first group are spending their third day in the market at Howden learning skills to help them make the most of their industry placement next week. This is what the future of speciality insurance looks like… Day 2 of the London Insurance Life Futures Academy saw our Hothouse Day return. Students were challenged to think of new insurance products to tackle emerging cyber risks. Students heard all about risk and cyber threats from Carolyn Thomas before working with industry mentors to create new ideas for insurance cover to protect businesses. Teams then presented their plans to our panel of industry leaders including Matthew Moore Melanie Alexander Rachel Turk Leon Walker LL.B Dominic Samengo-Turner Christopher Croft Louise Rose Alastair Swift Claire McDonald Our winning teams created breakthrough insurance products tackling cyber risks facing electric car makers and the NHS. Tomorrow we’re helping students get ready for their placements in the market next week, and starting the Futures Academy journey for another 75 students.
