Watching social media content is never passive. And you might not even realise it. Maybe you like, comment or share - or maybe you simply feel something, an emotional response - or maybe there’s an ‘action’ point, you go on to think or do something differently. When it comes to sports content, research from We are Family - UK's Global Kids Sports Report shows that it can drive participation among young children, ie, they take an ‘action’. And so this is an opportunity for media and creatives to think about how we can best serve children with sports content, for not only for enjoyment, but to encourage them to get involved, with all the physical and mental health aspects that brings. But there’s a challenge. 40% of young children in the UK rarely or never watch live sport on TV... A wonderful opportunity to join the 'Sports Wins' panel at The Children's Media Conference, to discus how social media can be harnessed to generate fandom, to inspire young children, and how sport can be a fantastic conduit for telling stories about wider society. Team outing at Hijingo! 🎉 Despite our bingo skills being a bit lackluster, we had a blast with the squad! Who needs wins when you've got good company, right?

Excited to be working with the Reading Agency again this year to promote their Summer Reading Challenge. Last year we saw over 600,000 children engaged with the challenge and we hope to beat that this year!

Huge congratulations to the London Lions, the first British basketball team to ever win a major European trophy! From research we carried out recently, basketball is the number one sport girls have considered but don't play at the moment.  We also know that strong role models and inspirational sports stars can give hesitant girls the confidence they need to start playing a sport, and it doesn’t get any more inspirational and impressive than what these athletes have achieved!  I just hope that their owners, 777, realise what an incredible asset they have in the team and continue to invest in them. It is both horrifying and incredibly sad that they are genuinely considering NOT paying for them to enter international competitions next season...!
