As a certified B Corp, part of our commitment at Wellworking is to provide work experience and internship opportunities.   It was great to have Otto with us recently on work experience. Otto wants to study Product Design at University, and enjoyed finding out more about the application of products alongside our Designer Debs Good and our Ergonomics specialist Lee Jones.   At Wellworking, we are fortunate to work with some great product designers who consistently develop new ideas to meet the challenges of today’s workplaces. Otto was incredibly grateful to two of the best of them, John Andrews from Ergonomic Cafe and the eponymous James Burleigh, for setting aside some time in their busy schedules to help inspire a member of this next generation in product design.   We wish Otto the very best for the bright future that surely awaits him 🌟 .

“We don’t know what we’re doing” – That was the lesson we learnt about sustainability at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen last week. Our Managing Director Luke Munro has been reflecting on just how far the furniture industry needs to go with the sustainability agenda.   Everywhere we went, manufacturers were extolling the 'sustainable' nature of their products on offer. Recycled content and post-use recyclability, responsibly sourced materials and flexibility of use were signposted in every display.   Often shows like this in the past have felt like the echo chambers one experiences on social media, where you hear only what you want to hear, over and over again, until it becomes your truth. Congratulations to MillerKnoll and Herman Miller for winning a Red Dot Design Award for the Fuld Multipurpose Chair. This innovative product designed by Stefan Diez has a fold-up seat that allows the chair to be nested with others to save space. Perfect for multi-use areas or training rooms.

Here are the highlights of day 2 at 3daysofdesign 2024! It was wonderful talking to Rikke Frost at the CARL HANSEN & SØN showroom, and learning about her innovative use of tactile materials to increase awareness of the essential materials needed for design work. On display was the award-winning Sideways sofa, Rikke's first collaboration with Carl Hansen & Søn. HAY showcased its collaboration with Liberty Matin, featuring Liberty's recognizable floral pattern on a classic pleated lampshade. Additionally, HAY unveiled their latest collaboration with ASICS Corporation, re-envisioning an iconic pair of shoes from the ASICS archives, the Skyhand OG. Over at Mater, they launched their new biodegradable furniture collection ALDER by Patricia Urquiola, which features materials like biodegradable plastic infused with coffee or wood waste. We also managed to see the NEURODANCE exhibition at Lintex, which brilliantly shows what happens in your brain when you stand in front of a blank writing board with a marker. We are here in Copenhagen for 3daysofdesign 2024! It's been a magical start to an always wonderful festival, so here are our highlights of day 1. At Normann Copenhagen they were celebrating their 25th year with a sensory exhibition that spotlighted the 7 core elements that have shaped the brand. Over at Muuto, we had the pleasure of catching up with Trine Mulvad Steffensen, Muuto's Head of Compliance & Sustainability, who explained that data was spearheading their push to half Muuto's carbon footprint by 2030. Throughout the festival, Framing is hosting an event in the Odd Fellow Palace that exhibits a wide range of brands, including Kettal, who showcased their latest phonebooth collection, the Kall. Malte Gormsen also shed light on Nanna Ditzel's latest design project, 'Flower', which was recreated for Trapholt’s exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of her birth.
