It was a fantastic day, thanks for having us! 😊
🐅 Volunteer Day Success: West Midlands Safari Park Lends a Helping Paw 🦒 Last week, we hosted the wonderful West Midlands Safari Park team at our headquarters for a volunteer day they won in a raffle. During their visit, the team sorted donations and labelled tins with dates in the store cupboard. They also had the chance to chat with our staff members about their work and hear their stories. Fun activities and brainstorming sessions rounded out the day, with the team generously sharing their wisdom. We hope you all had a fantastic day; we certainly loved having you here! 😊 As an extra surprise, the West Midlands Safari Park donated a stay at one of their famous African wild dog lodges! Keep an eye out for our upcoming summer raffle, where this incredible experience will be the top prize!🤩

Our Rothschild's giraffe, Arusha, has recently given birth to a beautiful baby boy! 😍 He arrived in the early hours of 29th May and Keepers have named him 'Mtembei', which means 'he who roams' 🦒 Recent years have seen steadily declining numbers of giraffes across Africa, due to poaching and habitat loss. But thanks to conservation breeding programmes in zoos and efforts in the wild to protect remaining populations, numbers have begun to increase slowly 🧡

WELCOME, SUZY & GITANA! 😊 We're thrilled to have welcomed two new African elephants, Suzy and Gitana, to West Midlands Safari Park! 🐘🐘 They’ve joined our herd from Pairi Daiza Zoo in Belgium to be companions for our elephants, Five and Coco. Since arriving, they've settled into their new home, consisting of outdoor pools, mud wallows, dust baths, indoor sand beds and enriching feeding areas. Guests can come and see the herd on the Safari Drive, from the African Walking Trail viewpoint or even from our beautiful Safari Lodges.
