🌍 This Earth Day, we are pleased to announce that the World Athletics Indoor Championships Glasgow 24 has become the first event to be awarded platinum-level recognition against the Athletics for a Better World Standard for the sustainable delivery of the Championships. 🏅 The award recognises the approach of the Local Organising Committee which ensured a strong focus was placed on the event’s environmental and social impacts. 🙏 As well as producing two world records and countless outstanding track and field performances, WIC Glasgow 24 also delivered several pioneering initiatives: from redistributing 1000 meals’ worth of excess food to a community food bank, to providing a comprehensive mental health training and support programme for more than 800 staff and volunteers amongst others.
