As we approach the announcement of this year's WineGB Awards trophy winners on 19 July, we'd like to thank the people that make it possible. Firstly to long-time competition sponsor Rankin Brothers & Sons for their commitment to supporting our industry. Jim Rankin, Commercial Director at Rankin, said: "Once again, we are truly proud to sponsor the WineGB Awards, and what a year it has proven to be, with a record number of exquisite wines entered by the highest ever number of producers from all over the country. Worldwide respect for our vineyards, the incredible range of wines they create, and the outstanding skills and dedication of our winemakers continue to flourish year on year. "Growing numbers, growing entries and growing awareness all mean that being recognised as a winner in the WineGB Awards carries more cachet than ever before." Secondly to our judging hosts, Sandridge Barton Wines for their supreme hospitality. Duncan Schwab, CEO and Head Winemaker at Sandridge Barton, said: "We were incredibly proud to have been selected as this year's venue to host the judging of the annual WineGB Awards at Sandridge Barton Wines in South Devon. It was an incredibly enjoyable week of tasting, analysing, and scoring over 380 wines entered from across the UK. The dedication and professionalism of the judging panel was exceptional, ensuring each wine received the attention it deserved. Congratulations to all winners, your recognition is thoroughly deserved." Finally to our trophy sponsors: Rankin Brothers & Sons, AE Chapman, Bevica, Boxes and Packaging, Core Equipment Ltd, Enartis, The Carling Partnership Ltd, Carpenter Box, Campden BRI, Gravetye Manor Hotel & Restaurant, NFU Mutual, NIAB, Paris Smith LLP, Plumpton College , RIEDEL Communications, THE PIG Hotel, and WBC Packaging & Display. #WineGBAwards #WineGBAwards2024 #WineGB #winecompetition #englishwine #welshwine

Re-certified SWGB vineyard – Ridgeview Wine Estate Head of Viticulture at Ridgeview, Matt Strugnell says: "Gaining our gold SWGB certification means that we can say with authority that our vineyard is sustainable. We're focusing on improving our soil health and I'm enjoying the journey. I'm also proud of the work we've done to transform our pruning with the help Simonit & Sirch, who we've worked with for the last three years." What a week! A huge thank you to the vineyards and wineries, retailers, distributors, restaurants, bars, pubs, tour operators, educators, communicators, the media, and our wide community of supporters for getting involved in our campaign this year. This year, English Wine Week received 178 mentions in national and regional media, well over 100 events, festivals and promotions were held, and we launched our Tourism Report, released the WineGB Awards 2024 results, and shared the news that Jackson Family Wines has joined WineGB, one of 35 new grower/producer members this year.
