We are pleased to announce that 25 banks and building societies have committed to accepting the Economic Abuse Evidence Form (EAEF) to help victim-survivors of abuse. The EAEF is an information-sharing tool, devised by MONEY ADVICE PLUS (MAP) and is currently being rolled out nationally by MAP and Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA). It allows qualified money and debt advisors, trained by MAP and SEA, to tell an organisation that someone has experienced economic abuse. This announcement marks the completion of a key recommendation made by us in our From Control to Financial Freedom report, which can be viewed in our press release here: https://lnkd.in/e6PySJhN Fiona Turner FRSA, our Head of Vulnerability Policy, discusses the EAEF in The Guardian, saying: “The journey to financial freedom for victim-survivors of economic abuse can be complex and challenging. Firms accepting the EAEF is positive progress that will simplify the process, reduce the risk of trauma associated with multiple notifications, and enable the victim-survivors to access the support they need.” You can read The Guardian article here: https://lnkd.in/ekiNeKwy

  • We were were delighted to host an event - ‘Careers and Connections’ – Data and ESG - in partnership with BNY yesterday. Gemma Jones (she/her) (Director – Enterprise Sustainability) and Natascha Santjer (Director of Enterprise Data Management) talked about how their 13 years of friendship, formed in their early stages from working together in PMO has evolved and they’ve grown together both personally and professionally. Some key takeaways from our audience this evening: Be curious – Knowledge is power and the more you have, the more comfortable you will feel. There are copious books and resources available on ESG and Data which are free and accessible to all. Ask questions within your peer group and to colleagues. ♀️♀️ - Leverage your network – Whether it be a personal or professional network, use your network to your advantage. Ask questions to trusted friends / colleagues – Do you think this move is right for me? What do you think are my strong skills? ️Data is for everyone – You’re either a producer or a contributor but everyone is somehow touching data ♻️ Everyone can contribute – When it comes to sustainability, if everyone were to do a little bit, we’d do a big bit. Transferable Skills – Transferable skills are crucial and you need to know what you’re good at in order to make career decisions. However, it is important to remember that soft skills are equally as important (if not more important!) than the hard skills. Have emotional intelligence, be curious, be a good communicator…. ⏰ Time is a precious commodity – use it wisely. Prioritise what you enjoy and the things you’re good at. A huge thanks to Natascha and Gemma for sharing their story, to Debbie Baird (Head of Legal, BNY) for chairing this discussion, to BNY for attending, and to our Edinburgh WIBF community who joined us this evening. Got a future event idea ❓ - Please contact Rachel K. ([email protected]). #WIBFEvents #CareerJourneys #Data #ESG #Networking
