About us

WBS Training Ltd organizes workshops and conferences for the capital markets and treasury divisions of investment companies worldwide, with all our efforts centered solely on the education of our clients. Therefore, we aim to ensure that such requirements can be effectively implemented in the real financial world. Our depth of experience within the training environment provides us with a greater knowledge and understanding of what our clients require from financial business training. This promotes the unique position of us delivering the quality and service that is crucial to our client’s continued success and competitive advantage in the market place. We have a flexible approach which allows for a more personal relationship with our clients. Furthermore, we do listen to what our clients want. 😓 [Updates] I've completed the first two topics of the seventh class at the Quantitative Developer Certificate (QDC). 😌 These topics are 'control flow' and 'iterators'. 🧐 Compared to other programming languages, kdb+/q is slightly more complex. It requires efforts to familiarise oneself first. 🤔 I'll complete each task one by one. 😓

😁 [Updates] The seventh class 'Working with Tables from the Quantitative Developer Certificate (QDC) is now over. 😏 Continuing from the previous lecture, we went through the syntaxes of the kdb+/q. Specifically, control flow, iterators, and q-sql were covered. Since the control flow requires functional programming, we must read and write programs from the left to the right. This effort requires quite a bit of practice to get used to. 🤔 I'll start practising as soon as I've completed the practices of Python from previous lectures. It's challenging but I've found it interesting a bit by bit. 😁

🧐 [Updates] I’ve just completed the practices of the sixth class at Quantitative Developer Certificate (QDC). 💪 For this class, I’ve intensively practised the lists and dictionaries on a terminal. Both lists and dictionaries require a significant amount of typing and subtle manipulations. 🤔 I’ll do what I can for the coming module test. 🧐

😏 [Updates] The sixth class of Quantitative Developer Certificate (QDC) is over now. 😏 In the class, the history of kdb+/q development was lectured. Among these, the k and the APL, predecessors of the q were touched. 🤔 Then we practised basics of q syntaxes e.g. variables, and vector arithmetic operations on the terminal. 🧐 I'll continue my self-study. 😏

💪 [Updates] I had the ninth class of the Quantitative Developer Certificate (QDC). 🥱 In this class, we've installed the tick to the q, opened two terminals and practised socket programming. 🤔 Additionally, by using Tickerplant, and RDB, we've inserted a couple of rows and observed the result on localhost browsers. 🧐 Perhaps, most importantly, I've started practising for the module test. It's getting hectic but I'll do my best. 💪

😌 [Updates] I've had the tenth class of the Quantitative Developer Certificate (QDC) programme, 'Introduction to C++'. The new module on C++ has begun. In the class, we've learnt the specifications of C++. Namely, Visual Studio walkthrough, variables, types, cast, and basics of functions. 🤔 C++ is a statically typed language just the same as Java. It’s also similar to Java in syntax. 😏 I've got an awful lot to digest but I'm fulfilled. 😌
