    This essay is a theoretical investigation exploring my painting’s relational mediation between itself and the photographic image. Since the 9/11 attacks on 11th September 2001, the ten years up to 2011 has been a period of immense change in the world. The interpretation of the world, through photographic images and its portrayal, had evolved through the mobile phone, creating particularities that hooked into unknown appetites, devouring and assimilating new information
    into our lives through the cacophony of mainstream phantasmagorical imagery, saturating our senses of culture.

    A sci-fi adventure following the exploits of protagonist Quongo. During the 550 page tome Quongo searches for a way back to his dimension and home. During his journey he meets many aliens, working as a bounty hunter whilst realising the truth of his origins in the galaxy of Nom-Yakk and the revelation about who he is and what he represents in a time of upheaval and change.

  • Source to the Sea

    A series of works exploring areas along the River Tone from its source to the sea. A long form project that will gradually record various rivers in Somerset from their source. The project aims to record the flora and fauna and the importance of our river network to life and the climate.

    The images in this book represent an inquiry into the way we negotiate reality through the photographic image. I am interested in its intervention in our daily lives and its determinable affect upon our thoughts and decisions - how these affect our memory and our interpretation of the individual and the collective, seeing reality through the image.

    Adam R. Grose has created an art installation in room 521 which evolved during the three months
    living and working in Málaga, Spain. Through research conducted in museums, galleries,
    learning Spanish and meeting people at Malaca Instituto, he produced many sketches, drawings
    and photographs that explored Málaga and the region of Andalusia.
    Adam's proposition was to explore and seek connections between the past and present,
    investigating how Phoenicians, Romans, Greeks, Celts…

    culture of Spain. He formed ideas based on layering, time, history and observations upon looking
    at the landscape, which he previously developed in Cyprus as visiting Artist-in-Residence at the
    Cyprus College of Art, Lempa.

    'Descending from the heavens an ancient demon is returning. He seeks revenge against those who destroyed his Skykeeper brethern. Demon Semiaz plans to forge from his blood a new royal bloodline of despotic rulers.'
