In September 2017, I completed my Masters degree in Latin American studies; this encompassed History, Politics and Economics. I focused my dissertation on the theme of two female Presidents - Laura Chinchilla and Michelle Bachelet. I studied History and Politics with a focus away from British history and politics. My main interests are Latin American history and Russian history. I wrote my dissertation on the influences behind British governmental relations with Pinochet's Chile, 1973-1988. Doing a joint honour created some difficulties with clashing deadlines and improved my writing skills as I had to adapt my writing style to different expectations from each department.
Alongside studying History and Politics, I wrote for two of my university's newspapers, and became Editorial Director of one during my second year. I was also very involved in the Labour Club, I was the Secretary during the 2015 General Election. These roles required a lot of organisational skills and time commitment but I successfully balanced all these competing deadlines and achieved good marks.
