    Surveillance Governance and the Snowden Effect: Intelligence Policy in the Digital Age.
    In this paper I examined the balance of security state and liberal values in respect of intelligence policy in the U.S., and the ‘Snowden effect' on it. Working on it required me to do a massive research on all types of surveillance in respect to the global human rights abuses.

    Reprieve is a leading human rights organisation, working to end some of the worst abuses of power around the world – from the execution of political prisoners in Saudi Arabia and Iran to detention without trial at Guantanamo.

    Role: Country analysis and culture-specific advice for the ‘Life after Guantánamo' project.
    • Assessed and refined resettlement practises for ex-Guantanamo detainees into the third country, identifying and solving their communications challenges with health, legal and other local aid providers;
    • Secured meetings with Kazakhstani government and other important stakeholders during the first field trip to the country, despite all the obstacles and initial unwillingness to negotiate.

    • Helped to raise over $600K by inviting private donors and celebrity figures to the foundation’s annual benefit art auctions.
    • Organised the foundation’s annual benefit auction of art, called “Dreams” in 2009 and 2010.
