How can leaders manage stress and avoid burnout?
Minimising barriers to 'self-care' gives you the opportunity to build a new habit. That habit could be to substitute a commute by public transport for cycling, or running to the station, even if only 10 mins away. This way you don't need to find/create time to fit something new in, you're simply substituting. And after 8-12 weeks it will have become part of your routine. Barriers might be finding showers at your workplace, getting a locker and keeping some toiletries/spare clothes in it. Or buying a bag that is comfortable on your back when cycling/running/walking. And an added bonus of these physical substitutions are the mindful opportunities that come with them, giving you windows of time to indulge your subconscious - relish them.
