See publicationThe Fastnet of 1979 claimed many lives when a storm devastated the fleet - most of whom were still sailing towards the Fastnet Rock. Chris was the youngest member of the crew of Condor of Bermuda, skippered by Sir Peter Blake ( deceased ), which took line honours. The navigator, Spud Spedding saved many lives by radio relaying distress calls.
