What do you do if you're facing obstacles and challenges when transitioning to Global Talent Acquisition?
The biggest challenge is cultural differences and being mindful and sensitive to them. I’ve recruited in 44 countries and taking time to meet with and build relationships with your global stakeholders is the best way to proceed. Also an assumption I’ve incorrectly made is the expectation that someone from the same country but different city/region would work the same. If you try and manage colleagues from Berlin & Munich or LA & Boston in the same way, you will fail quickly. Also, and I can’t stress this enough: LEARN THE LOCAL EMPLOYMENT LAWS! I once made the monumental error of asking someone their current salary in a place where doing so was illegal…. Research and open conversation - the only way to proceed.

How do you collaborate with hiring managers during recruitment?
Collaboration, consistency, partnership, equality. Words that are key to any successful TA/HM relationship. The days of master/servant relationships are over. If a partnership model isn't established then you don't have Talent Acquisition, you have Recruitment Administrators. Facilitators. Order Takers. There is a HUGE difference.
