As an ethics and law tutor, I teach student doctors and doctors about the principles of ethics and law that are essential to incorporate into their clinical careers. I lead small group discussions surrounding ethics, law, communication skills and professional duties of a doctor. This includes the use of online software programs to remotely teach and facilitate sessions.

Required to train health-care professionals and other individuals in engaging with women throughout their pregnancies and subsequent deliveries in a manner that recognises and promotes their human rights. I run educational training workshops and confidently deliver teaching days. This has most recently been via online sessions using software such as Zoom and Microsoft teams.

As a mini- pupil, I was able to gain experience observing a wide variety of clinical negligence cases. I was involved in:
• Presenting draft legal documents/arguments to barristers
• Attend court hearings to observe the judicial process in action
• Attend the Court of protection and emergency deprivation of liberty hearings
• Attend conference and briefing meetings between Doctors, Medico-legal advisors, Barristers and Solicitors

My experience as a mini-pupil again further exposed me to the practical interaction between medicine and law. I gained valuable first hand experience shadowing elite barristers within many legal settings and meetings.
