    Head of BBRO

    British Beet Research Organisation (BBRO)

    - Present 6 years 7 months

    Norwich, United Kingdom

I joined the BBRO in 2018, where I took up the position of Head of BBRO. During my time at BBRO to date I have continued to develop the team, now with a stronger focus on KE, to ensure that practical science drives change on-farm. The skills and expertise within the team continue to grow from strength to strength under my leadership with support from a dedicated Senior Management Team that I also developed following a review of the team structure in 2019.

My future agriculture career was firmly cemented at Rothamsted Research in the late 1990’s where I undertook a PhD in cereal pathology. Working in one of the oldest and most renowned agricultural research organisations in the world was both inspiring and humbling and this drove my passion for science that could make a difference on farm and not just sit on a shelf in a library!

Projects

  • HGCA Soil Program

    - Present

The importance of good soil health for crop production has long been recognised. Relatively recent environmental concerns have added further reasons to improve soil management. HGCA work aims to provide practical soil management advice as well as a fuller understanding of biochemical processes within the soil.
