What do you do if your team is resistant to receiving feedback?
I've always found the best way to encourage others to reflect on their own strengths and weaknesses is to be open about mine. To share 360 degree feedback I have received or project feedback received. To give a balanced perspective on what I took from that, and any changes I did or didn't make. We all have growth areas and listening to feedback - both good and bad - is something I encourage all my leaders to be open to. You can choose what you take on board ultimately but our greatest areas of growth sometimes come from reflecting on the feedback of others. Perception is often other people's reality so its important to understand. Lead by example.

What do you do if your boss is constantly micromanaging your influencer marketing efforts?
Ask why and peel the onion to really understand the route cause for the need to micromanage and exert a level of control. Building understanding (versus assuming its there), showing examples of what good looks like and being clear on results to expect coupled with active communication are key to addressing the concerns.

What do you do if your boss is constantly micromanaging your influencer marketing efforts?
Demonstrating proven results and impact is key in building trust. You need to showcase the art of the possible and make it real. I've always found a little healthy competition between peers can also help. When they see what others are doing successfully you can often turn the sceptic into an advocate

University of Warwick
I returned to Warwick in 1993 and the Novartis Research Institute in Vienna, Austria to research my PhD, which examined the HIV virus protein functionality with a view to identifying new targets for HIV gene therapy. It was an exciting time for HIV research although sadly in the midst of the AIDS epidemic. It was a fun and intellectually challenging time in my life.

A four-year degree that included a one-year placement in industry. I was lucky enough to complete my year at what was then the Sandoz (now Novartis) Research Institute in Vienna, Austria.

My secondary school education from age 11-18 was spent at Portsmouth High School for Girls in Southsea, Hampshire, UK where I completed my ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels.

The iconic yacht, Maiden, carried the first all-female crew to ever sail around the world when Tracy Edwards MBE skippered her in the 1989/90 Whitbread Round the World Race. Maiden won two of toughest legs and placed second overall; the best result for a British Yacht since 1977 and unbeaten to this day. Maiden was sold after the race. The yacht was discovered in disrepair in 2014 in the Indian Ocean and restored. The Maiden Factor Foundation was then set up by Tracey with a mission of ‘inspiring and empowering women and girls to reach their potential through education and bringing awareness of gender inequality, specifically for disenfranchised women and girls globally with no access to education, to give them the fighting chance they deserve’.
The Maiden Factor Foundation activities are held in ports of call around the world with the iconic yacht, Maiden. The Maiden team are hoping to restart their round the world tour in 2021. -
