“I have worked for Gill for a number of years and have always found her to be very dedicated to whatever project she has worked on. She always took the time to explain and train and it is by no small effort on her part that I have been successful in my carrier. She has always made efforts to be a key member of the company and to drive the business forward. I would have no hesitation to work with Gill again.”

Overview of the emerging trends and influences driving the evolution and growth of the Serviced Apartment and Apart-Hotel sub-sector. Having specialised as a Construction Cost Consulant (QS) in the hotels and residential sector, Gill identified the opportunity presented by this exciting and growing niche sector of the market. Gill led the research strategy and established the structure and content of the article, working closely with Neil Davis and Ciara Walker in preparing content for the published narrative. Insights and contributions included market research, interviewing key market leaders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the key demographic and design influences and trends of this blended and evolving sub-sector; drawing on input from investors, developers, operators and consultants actively involved in developments in hotels, serviced apartments, student accommodation, PRS and BTR, co-living and co-working as well as traditional residential for sale products. Gill organised and chaired a sector focused roundtable discussion event with key market leaders and proponents in the sector, many of whom contributed to the published article.

The recent rise in awareness of Building Information Modelling (BIM) has left many in the industry wondering what it means for them as individuals and professionals and for their organisations.
The subject has so far tended to focus on the realm of possibility rather than tangible benefits. But the construction industry must now respond to the challenges being laid down, initially by government, to ensure that clients’ needs and objectives are at the forefront and at the same time to encourage innovation through the supply chain to deliver efficiencies and savings over the full lifecycle of a building.
